Is the pedal drive included with the Bonafide P127?

The Bonafide P127 includes the Propel Pedal Drive system as part of the kayak; that is the pedal configuration we sell and what separates it from the paddle models in the range. A paddle is not included, and you should still carry one, because a paddle is the backup when a drive fouls on weed or the water gets too shallow to pedal. Fishfinders, batteries and mounting accessories are separate purchases.

Does the Bonafide P127 pedal drive give forward and reverse?

The Bonafide P127 Propel Pedal Drive provides both forward and reverse propulsion. Reverse helps you back away from a snag, hold position against light current, or pull away from cover without turning the kayak and losing your casting angle. The hand-steering control works with the rudder for close-quarters maneuvering while you pedal. Forward and reverse are selected at the drive rather than by repositioning the kayak, which keeps your casting angle while you adjust.

Can the Bonafide P127 also be paddled or motorized?

The Bonafide P127 can be paddled, and carrying a paddle is sensible practice on any pedal kayak, both as a backup and for water too shallow or too weedy for the drive. On motorization, no motor mount or maximum motor rating is published for this hull, so we do not state one. If a powered setup is what you want, the Bonafide PWR129 is the hull designed around it.

The Bonafide P127 Propel Drive must be removed whenever the kayak is transported. Drive coverage excludes failure caused by transporting it installed and lubrication with anything other than Finish Line premium grease. Rinse the drive with fresh water after saltwater use, complete routine maintenance, and avoid unauthorized modifications. Review the documentation supplied with the drive before its first use.

What warranty applies to the Bonafide P127 hull, components and pedal drive?

The Bonafide P127 carries three separate coverages. The hull has a limited lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects for the original retail customer; components are covered for one year; and the Propel Pedal Drive is covered for five years from its purchase date. Registration within 14 days activates hull coverage, and the drive requires registration within two weeks of purchase. Claims start with the dealer you bought from, which is us, with proof of purchase, serial numbers and photographs. Eligibility is decided under the Bonafide warranty terms.
