Love this kayak, gives me more time for fishing and less time hassling around with my pole and paddles. Eco Fishing has done an excellent job at answering all questions and customer service is the best.
Easy transform, easy transport, easy maintaining, function well as intended use, if you are looking for portable boat, Oru Inlet kayak is much better than inflatable. If the the two floats can be attached to the peddle as outriggers while fishing it will be more stable. The Kokopelli Alpine Lake 4-Piece Peddle is light as expected, I like it. Wait for more than eight weeks to get my order delivered, Eco people are helpful.
Great product from a great company
Great kayaks great
Oru Kayak The Inlet Folding Kayak
I have had this out twice now and love it. It sets up in 5 minutes and the take-down is shorter. It easily fits into my car trunk, is light enough for me to carry and is the only way I could use and transport a kayak at my age (70 year old woman). Although there was a delay in the order due to the pandemic, Eco Fishing was wonderful in their communications with me. Thanks Jared.
Very well made and thought out
Lightweight graphite and perfectly balanced. An excellent value!
Good experience with seller. Responsive and responsible. Love the kayaks.
With the onset of COVID, I was looking for a simple way to get outdoors. I landed on the Inlet Kayak by Oru and ordered through the team at Eco Fishing Shop who kept me informed through the entire process. With delays in manufacturing and slower shipping the team at Eco was transparent and kind to works with. I highly recommend them and will continue to refer my friends and family. Thanks Jared and team!
Very happy with purchase, great customer service!
When we received both our new Oru’s last week, I observed that one of the boxes was damaged. Upon opening, I observed a dent in the kayak. This was caused by something ( possibly a forklift) that then hit the the kayak. I sent pictures to Oru and they advised that I must deal with Eco Fishing Shop.
Please advise where I can email pictures of the box and the new Oru.
We were so excited to get our kayaks and took them out for the first time- it gets easier to put them together after a couple of tries- watch the video, follow the manual, and have a blast. They're great! Very maneuverable- recommend the float bags.
Purchases 2 Oru Inlet kayaks. Took them out on Sheridan Lake in the Black Hills of SD. Had them both up and in the water in 20 minutes. They did not disappoint. Excited for the next adventure.
My paddle did not arrive with kayak! No creek nearby but on the sound without a paddle. There seems to be a defect on the left forward rim. I reported it but have not heard back.
it was my first day yesterday and I practiced opening and closing half a dozen times with one good paddle in the Ct river. So far very impressed with ease of assembly and comfort with rowing. Suits my leisure purposes!
I live in a remote village in Alaska and purchased this kayak with the intention of hunting out of it for moose. After some practice it sets up easily and within 5-10 min. It packs up relatively small and light which makes it super easy to fit in a skiff with my other gear. We set up camp with the skiff and then drop into creeks and sloughs with the kayaks. The stability is great and it is easy to steer. Wind does push it around because it is so light, but so far that hasn’t been an impossible issue. I am able to fit a small pack behind the seat and have my rifle positioned between my legs with the barrel propped up on the front edge. The kayak is easy to walk over super shallow portions of the floats without difficulty. It is easy to empty of water. My only complaint is that there is no “cushion” on the seat. This is easily remedied though with a seat cushion I already own. I still plan on getting a moose with this kayak (yes, I know, it will take about 8-10 trips to get the meat out with it), but I look forward to using it throughout the year.
My wife loves this Kayak. I have used my Bay model for three years and decided it was time to add another model for my wife. (She was renting, but due to COVID, we could not rent one for this trip). The Beach model fits her style best. Thanks to the Eco Fishing Team for going the extra mile to express mail the kayak to us before we left on our summer trip. We have a fifth wheel trailer and the folding kayaks can fit in the cargo area. This solves a major issue of how to transport a conventional kayak with a fifth wheel RV.
Very happy with the product, also very happy with the communication from Eco! Would highly recommend!
Very fast delivery
Feel Free Stand Assist Bar with a rating scale of 1-5 (5 being the best): INSTALLATION- I installed the Feel Free Stand Assist Bar on my Feel Free LURE II Tandem Kayak. The installation was easy enough. The instruction are not written for a LURE II but the installation is straight forward. INSTALLATION gets rated a 5 out of 5/Excellent. QUALITY-The Quality of the Stand Assist Bar is very good. So QUALITY gets rated a 5 out of 5/Excellent. STABILITY: The Feel Free Stand Assist Bar on a Feel Free LURE II Tandem Kayak is not a good option for me. I installed Stand Assist Bar in the front for my wife. The Stand Assist Bar does not fold down easily. My was unable to lower the Bar so we could paddle. So we have to leave it deployed during our outing. It is cumbersome to say the least. I purchased the Stand Assist Bar without thinking about how it would fit into our fishing mission. I thought it would give my wife stability while she was standing up to fish. After our first outing my wife asked that I remove the Stand Assist Bar. The Free Feel LURE II Tandem Kayak is stable enough without the Stand Assist Bar. One of my concerns was if my wife fell overboard, she would grab the Stand Assist Bar and flip the boat. With the boat flipped I would not be in any condition to help her. If she just fell overboard, I would be in a better condition to help her. So just wear your personal protective flotation device. My observation is the Stand Assist Bar just doesn’t add stability to our boat. STABILITY: gets a 2.5 out of 5/Satisfactory. I guess the Stand Assist Bar does what it says it will do, assist you to stand. That's it.
Beaver Tail Rudder Kit with a rating scale of 1-5 (5 being the best): INSTALLATION- I installed the Beaver Tail Rudder on my Feel Free LURE II Tandem Kayak. The installation was easy enough. I would suggest that Feel Free send a box of Crayons with the instructions, they are not very useful. I bet 9 out 10 people don’t even look at the instructions. Who needs instruction anyway. INSTALLATION gets rated a 5 out of 5/Excellent. Next is MANEUVERABILITY: The Beaver Tail Rudder on a Feel Free LURE II Tandem Kayak is not an option. I wish the rudder was a little bigger for the LURE II as I noticed that I was pushing full left or full right rudder to maneuver but it is still something that I have to have to maneuver the LURE II around the dock and trees (Yes; Trees in the water). I didn’t mark down the size of the Rudder because it probably preforms awesome on the single seat Kayak’s. MANEUVERABILITY gets a 4.5 out of 5/Excellent. Overall I guess I would rate the Beaver Tail Rudder a 4.8/Excellent for installation and maneuverability.
Here is my overview of the LURE II Tandem Kayak with a rating scale of 1-5 (5 being the best). I want to be fair in my assessment and use the following categories: Delivery, Weight, Quality, Stability, Maneuverability, Comfort and Transportability. Delivery: It took 30 days for delivery of our LURE II Tandem Kayak. This was courtesy of COVID-19. COVID-19 scored 0 out of 5/Unsatisfactory. Weight: The delivery truck driver stated that the shipping document showed the Kayak weight was 100 pounds (not true). The advertised weight is 105 lbs. without seats. I weighted the LURE II Tandem Kayak with 2 Zero Gravity seats, the Beaver Rudder and Standup Bar that I installed. I used scales that I use to weigh aircraft. Total weight was 138.8 lbs. The one word to describe the LURE II Tandem Kayak is HEAVY. So in the weight category I will rate is 3 out of 5/Satisfactory. Quality: This is subjective but I would rate the Quality 5 out of 5/Excellent Quality. Stability: The LURE II is very stable getting in and out at the dock and along the shore. The LURE II is a Very Good platform for fishing. My wife and I felt that only one person at a time could standup, as with any boat you must keep your center mass over the center line of the boat. The LURE II can be easily tip over if you are not paying attention to your center of mass. My wife wants me to remove the front standup bar, stating that it only gets in the way and does not add to the stability of the Kayak. On a side note: my concern was if my wife fell overboard, she would grab the stand up bar and flip the boat. If she just fell overboard, I would be in a better condition to help her. So without the Standup Bar, Stability gets a 4 out of 5/Very Good. Maneuverability: One of the first things we noticed was that we kept hitting each other’s paddles while trying to reach a rowing rhythm. So we will have to order the seat rails to be able to adjust the front seat forward. I would say that the Beaver Rudder is a must have item on the LURE II Kayak. We tried maneuvering with the rudder up and down, with the rudder up out of the water it took a lot more effort to turn the Kayak and more coordination. I will add speed into this category. In our 16’ Old Town canoe, using Kayak style paddles. We were able to cruise @ 5-6 miles per hour according to our GPS. The LURE II was a struggle to hold 3 MPH. The weight of the LURE II really reduced the speed. Yes you guessed it Maneuverability gets a 3.5 out of 5/Satisfactory. Comfort: I’m still looking to for the most comfortable seat. Don’t get me wrong the Zero Gravity seats are comfortable but I was seating on it for more than 5 hours. The LURE II has plenty of leg room and adjustable foot pads are nice as I adjust them to get better comfort. Over all comfort is 4.5 out of 5/Excellent. Transportability: The LURE II is a little over 14’ long, 36’ wide and ours weighs in at about 130 lbs. (without the standup bar). We can load the LURE II into the back of our truck and go to the lake or pond for a day outing but it’s not going on the top of our car like other Kayaks and canoes. It is just too HEAVY and bulky. The Keel Beam wheel does help but you will still need a Kayak dolly to transport it any distance. It really takes 2 people to lift and handle the LURE II. The transportability is subjective to how much you can lift. I rated the transportability @ 2.9 out of 5/Satisfactory. I just could rate it as a 3 because it is bulky and heavy. Overall: We gave up speed and agility from our 16’ Old Town Canoe for comfort and stability in our Feel Free LURE II Tandem Kayak. The LURE II gives us a great platform for fishing as long as we are not in a hurry to get to our favorite fishing spot. So far the LURE II is meeting our Pan fishing expectations. So I would recommend the LURE II Tandem Kayak as long as everyone purchasing the Kayak understands the empty weight Vs. the operational weight of the Lure II. My overall rating of the Feel Free LURE II Tandem Kayak is 4 out of 5/Very Good.
Installation was easy. Unfortunately haven't had a chance to get out yet.
My experience with you and Eco Fishing went great. My experience with the kayak is not going well. The woven steel cable that is used for the rudder system snapped and broke. Have no idea how or why but it happened while I was out on the water. I’m currently trying to get it fixed by 3 waters company
