Garmin Kraken Features

HIGH POWERED With 100 lbs of thrust, Force Kraken is the most powerful trolling motor on the market.

DESIGNED TO ENDURE The sturdy composite shaft and all components are built to endure harsh marine environments and have advanced corrosion and saltwater protection.

POWER THAT LASTS Efficient brushless motor design has longer run times than brushed motors and allows you to focus on fishing — and not running out of battery.

PURPOSE-BUILT DESIGN This trolling motor is optimized to operate in rough open-water conditions, at either 24 or 36 volts, thanks to the powerful and efficient brushless motor design.

LIVESCOPE™ SONAR CABLE MANAGEMENT Keep your LiveScope sonar cable protected by running the transducer cable through the trolling motor shaft (accessory purchase required).

PERFECT FOR BAY BOATS AND CENTER CONSOLES Get easy installation where bow space is limited, thanks to the pivot-style mount. The 63” and 75” shaft lengths accommodate many different boat sizes and deck configurations.

STAY PUT The anchor lock provides our most precise boat positioning technology with multi-band GPS signal reception to help keep the boat in one place.

FLOATING REMOTE Use the included remote to help you navigate from anywhere in the boat with our simple point -and-go technology.

SMARTWATCH INTEGRATION Connect your compatible Garmin smartwatch to control steering, anchor lock and more from your wrist.

WIRELESS INTEGRATION Connect to your compatible chartplotter to create and follow routes for the trolling motor to follow while you fish.

WHISPER QUIET Don’t spook the fish; the motor is extremely quiet above and below the water.

The Kraken

After owning a Rhodan 84" on my 25'cc and a MinnKota Ulterra 54" on my jetski I have to say that the garmin kraken blows them both out of the water. Kraken is quieter, stronger, and more accurate. Only thing it lacks is the self deploy, stow, and teim. Definitely recommend this.

Great trolling more, lots of features but could be improved

I've had this trolling motor for about a month. I have never had one prior to this. It is on a Key West 239FS and I have the white 75" model. I'm running 3 lead acid batteries, 2 of which are not deep cycle. This is until my lithium battery gets here :). So far my friends and I are impressed with the trolling motor. I've been in strong wind and current, and it holds just fine - and only using 1/2 power. The anchor lock on the motor itself is really handy, docking under a bridge and getting the motor down quickly before drifting away, I immediately hit the anchor button. Then fine tune the position when I get settled in. Nice feature! The wireless communication to my MFD (1243) works flawlessly. Every time I turn it on - it connects without any intervention. It works great from the screen too! I often use the anchor lock from the screen, while looking at the sonar to find my 'spot'. I also use it for navigating to a waypoint on the screen. Some caveats to this is when you tell the GPS to navigate to a spot it will ask you to engage the trolling motor. I hit "engage" and it does nothing. You need to turn on the prop after doing so. When you set the prop speed, that is what it does. You can have it go fast, or slow. Doesn't bother me, but know the speed is what you set. Once it gets close, it will anchor lock. I notice it always stops short of the mark. Not far, maybe 5~10 feet but it never gets right to it. Usually I just overshoot where I want to go or use the jog feature. The jog feature is nice, it tells you how many feet it will do the jog so you can just do a few feet, or 30+. The gesture control works good - but only for quick changes. It's very easy to get it to steer suddenly. What I have found useful is using the gesture to get it going in the general direction, then use the buttons to fine tune it.

All in all, I think it works great. I love that it connects to my MFD and best of all I didn't have to run wires to it. The batteries have lasted me all day, even with the bad setup I have. Some things can be improved, like getting closer to the waypoint and maybe getting the gesture control to work a tad bit better. But, it has way more pros then cons!
