The Garmin LiveScope™ 2 HD Transducer LVS42HD delivers Garmin's clearest live-scanning sonar ever, purpose-built for anglers who fish at castable range. Optimized for distances out to 125 feet, the LVS42HD serves up 50% more detail at closer ranges than the previous generation, with high-definition imagery, sharper target separation, and reduced on-screen noise that make it easy to distinguish individual fish from bait, brush, and your lure. Like the rest of the LiveScope 2 Series, the LVS42HD features a streamlined direct-connect design with no black box required — it plugs straight into your compatible Garmin chartplotter and power source for a simpler, cleaner installation with fewer failure points. Integrated smart sensors handle the details automatically: built-in water detection shuts off sonar transmission the moment the transducer leaves the water, while an onboard temperature sensor delivers accurate real-time readings. Wider sonar angles expand your coverage in Forward, Down, and Perspective modes, and more than 15 vivid color palettes let you fine-tune the display for maximum detail and clarity in any conditions.


The LVS42HD includes a trolling motor barrel mount and adjustable Perspective Mode mount, both tool-free for fast changes between fishing techniques. It also integrates across the full Garmin marine ecosystem — attach it to the Spy™ Pole mount for wireless sonar control independent of your trolling motor, or pair it with the GT360UHD transducer for OneVü sonar, overlaying live imaging onto a 360-degree view around your boat.
