Excellent

Eco Fishing shop shipped this item quickly and their price was great. I searched and obviously found this on Amazon but I found a better price and better service with Eco Fishing.
I'm using my Garmin on my square back canoe and I will say that it works pretty well. I have it the transducer mounted on my wooden transom and just route the cable up and over the side. I get pretty clear pictures and it definitely tracks my path via GPS. Which helps me greatly in the little guts that my rivers go through. You can get lost pretty easily. Everything seems to be robust and so far as I have move the canoe in and out of my truck bed and into the water it works great.

By the way I power the Garmin with a 20v Dewalt tool battery and get more than enough usage from it, and I don't have to convert it to 12v. The screen tells me the input voltage so I know if/when the battery is getting low. After 6+ hours of usage the battery gets to about 17v from the start so I don't have any issues.

Terrible customer service

I had trouble with the unit transponder not working I called you immediately and you said that you were going to check with your manager and Garmin if he could not tell me what was wrong. I never heard back from you I even made 3 follow up calls with not return calls. I had to get help from Garmin to resolve the issue the unit did not work right out of the box and you should have helped me resolve the issue. I should have not been the one to jump through hoops to get it fixed.

Still waiting for the wind to die down and get out on the water.

We are still experiencing high winds, gusting as high as 40 mph, and so the chance of getting out on the lake in the next few days is slim to none, but when the weather gets right, I’m ready!

The fish finder functions work well. I cannot get the contour mapping to work. Have to call Garmin Tech Support

great for a kayak

I am no expert on fish finders but the size fits the boat in this case a kayak. it doesn't get in the way. its close enough for my old eyes and its bright. i can see it well. it has a lot of features I'm still playing with
