The MicroSport™ Off-Road Trailer is full submersible and offers a unique black powder coat over a pre-galvanzied steelframe creating one of the most rust-preventive coatings in the industry. Each kit is comprised of a sturdy steel tongue, a “plug-&-play” LED submersible lighting system that meets DOT standards, 78" steel load bars, and large oversized pontoon tires. With the use of common tools, assembly can be accomplished in around three to four hours. Backed by a Five-Year Limited Warranty and proudly crafted in the United States.
Included: (1) MPG440BLK MicroSport™ Off-Road Base Trailer, (1) MPG445 Full Size Spare Tire with Lockable Attachment, (4) MPG132 FoldAway-J™ Kayak Carriers with Hardware & Straps, (1) Instruction Manuals & Registration Documentation. Assembly Required.
The MicroSport Off-Road base trailer with 78-inch load bars, a full-size spare tire with lockable attachment, four FoldAway-J folding kayak carriers with hardware and straps, and the instruction manuals with registration paperwork. Assembly is required.
The trailer side brings the black powder coat over pre-galvanized steel, oversized pontoon tires on marine-grade sealed hubs, and a DOT and Transport Canada approved plug-and-play submersible LED light kit. Complete weight is 263 pounds.
It is configured for four boats up to 20 feet, but two separate limits apply. The trailer is rated at 800 pounds in total, and each FoldAway-J carrier is rated at 75 pounds per boat.
Both have to be satisfied. No single kayak may exceed 75 pounds on its carrier, and the four boats together with all four carriers, the spare tire, straps and gear must come in under 800 pounds. The per-carrier rating does not add to the trailer's total, and four carriers do not create four separate allowances. Weigh your boats as you travel with them and check both figures.
Beam is the constraint, not length. Four narrow touring or recreational kayaks fit 78-inch bars comfortably; four wide sit-on-top fishing hulls will not, whatever carrier you use. Folding J-carriers help by holding boats on edge so each takes less bar width.
The 44-to-63-inch adjustable bar spread lets you move support points fore and aft to suit the hulls. Measure the beam of every boat, leave clearance between hulls and hardware, and contact our team if the arithmetic looks tight.
They fold down when empty, which lowers the trailer's profile for storage and for towing home without boats. On a four-carrier trailer that is the difference between a cluttered rig and a flat one.
Set each carrier to match the hull rather than forcing the boat into the carrier, and confirm the carrier suits the hull shape as well as the weight. Boats with wide flat or pontoon-style bottoms sit poorly on edge and are better suited to bunks or saddles. Each carrier holds up to 75 pounds per boat.
A full-size trailer spare with a lockable attachment. A trailer wheel is not interchangeable with your tow vehicle's spare and a matching replacement is not always available near a launch, so on a gravel access track it turns a puncture into a delay rather than a recovery call.
Include it in your pre-trip check: pressure, condition, and that the lock is secure. A spare that has sat flat for two seasons is not a spare. Carry a jack and a lug wrench that actually fit the trailer, too.
The trailer coupler requires a 2-inch-diameter hitch ball, and the top of that ball should sit 18 inches from the ground so the trailer tows level. That is the trailer's side of the connection. Lighting is a DOT-approved plug-and-play submersible LED kit, so confirm your vehicle's connector matches.
Your vehicle needs a hitch with a receiver, a ball mount that fits that receiver, and a 2-inch ball fitted to the ball mount. A receiver does not take a ball directly, and receiver size is a separate matter from ball diameter — a 2-inch ball does not mean you need a 2-inch receiver. Hitch, receiver, ball mount, ball and tow vehicle must each be rated for the loaded trailer, and the lowest rating in that chain governs.
Four boats present a large frontal area, so expect more crosswind sensitivity than the trailer shows empty.
Yes. The trailer takes roughly three to four hours with common tools, then the four carriers and the spare tire mount afterwards. Hubs arrive pre-assembled and the wiring is pre-tested.
It arrives as a multi-boxed item and the carton count and shipping method vary with configuration. Check the shipment against the supplied documentation before starting, keep the paperwork envelope, and tell us promptly at sales@ecofishingshop.com about anything missing or damaged.
Pre-trip: lights, coupler and pin, crossed safety chains, lug nuts, condition of all three tires including the spare, and every strap and carrier fastener. Service the wheel bearings on the schedule in your documentation — a submersible trailer used on wet, gritty ground earns that attention. Rinse frame, wheels, carriers and hardware after salt water, mud or road salt, check folding carrier pivots for grit, and inspect the powder coat for chips.
Inflate to the Malone-recommended cold pressure for this trailer, 35 to 40 PSI, checked before towing while the tires are cold, and follow the trailer documentation and current manufacturer specification. A sidewall maximum is not the recommended operating pressure — read the sidewall for tire size, load range and maximum limits, not for the figure to inflate to.
A five-year limited warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship for the original retail purchaser, subject to the written exclusions. Normal wear, corrosion, accidents, misuse, overloading and failures traced to assembly errors are not covered, and no claim can be guaranteed in advance. Register with Malone within 30 days of purchase and keep your original receipt.
Warranty registration is separate from state trailer registration. Title, plate and inspection rules vary by jurisdiction — check with your state motor vehicle agency.
