An excellent knife for freshwater boating and rescue. It features the low-profile, quick-release Thumbs Up Sheath™ that securely stashes fixed blades and releases with a one-handed flick of the thumb. The sheath attaches firmly to a PFD lash tab, and a lanyard attachment point on the knife handle further safeguards against losing the blade in rough waters.
Additionally, a lanyard attachment point at the tip of the handle gives boaters another option to secure the knife. The knife includes an oxygen tank valve wrench in the center of the handle and has a partially serrated edge with 'reverse scallop' serrations to facilitate severing tough fibers. Its asymmetrical handle and blade, along with the blunt tip, ensure proper blade orientation and help prevent injury in tight rescue situations. Jimping along the top of the blade edge provides secure thumb placement and prevents grip slippage. The glass-reinforced polypropylene handle features a rubber overlay for a comfortable grip and maximum blade control in wet environments.
