Power-Pole Micro Spike Driver can hold Jon boats and small skiffs up to 1,500 lbs (including passengers) and is perfect for kayaks and paddle boards. Micro anchor unit is easily-removable making storage or transfer to other vessels simple. Includes quick-release bracket.

Other mounting options available include custom mounting brackets or transom mount adapters. Includes 15 ft power cord for 12v battery or if no on-board battery is available, add the Micro Battery Pak & Charger (sold separately) and go wherever adventure takes you. What size boats and kayaks can use the Power-Pole Micro Anchor?

The Micro Anchor is built for vessels up to 1,500 pounds — jon boats, small skiffs, microskiffs, gheenoes, kayaks and paddle boards. It works by driving a spike into the bottom rather than setting an anchor on a rode, so it belongs in shallow water over a bottom that will accept a spike, not in deep water or over hard bottom. The mounting footprint is 5 inches wide by 6 inches high, so the transom, gunwale or bow location you pick needs a flat, structurally sound surface that can carry the load. Mounting options include the included adjustable quick-release bracket, custom brackets and transom-mount adapters.

What does the 1,500-pound limit actually include?

The 1,500-pound figure is total loaded vessel weight — the hull plus passengers, motor, batteries, fuel, tackle and gear. It is not a rating for the bare boat, so a 900-pound jon boat with two anglers, an outboard and a full day's equipment can reach the limit quickly. Treat it as an upper boundary rather than a target. It is also not a promise that the Micro will hold in every situation: wind, current, wave action, spike length and how readily the bottom accepts the spike all affect holding. Soft mud, sand and grass generally accept a spike; rock, shell and hardpan may not.

Is an anchor spike included, and what size spike fits?

No — the anchor spike is sold separately, and the driver unit will not deploy without one. The Micro driver accepts any 3/4-inch spike, including the Power-Pole heavy-duty spike and the lighter Ultra-Lite Spike, so you can match spike length and weight to the water you fish. Longer spikes reach deeper water and give more bite; shorter, lighter spikes are easier to live with on a kayak or paddle board. Order the spike alongside the driver so the system is usable the day it arrives.

What does the 102-inch deployment specification mean?

It is a deployment measurement, not a maximum water depth. The 102 inches is measured from the bottom of the driver unit to the top of an 8.5-foot spike, which describes the span the system covers through its stroke. Usable anchoring depth is always less than that, and it varies with how high the driver is mounted above the waterline, the length of spike you fit, how far the spike penetrates the bottom, and wave action. Plan the setup around the depths you actually fish and choose spike length accordingly, rather than reading 102 inches as a depth rating.

How is the Micro Anchor powered, and is the Micro Battery Pak included?

The Micro Anchor runs on 12 volts and includes a 15-foot power cord that connects to a suitable onboard 12-volt battery. The motor is a 60-watt low-RPM, high-torque unit that draws current only while the anchor is raising or lowering, not continuously while it holds. If your kayak or skiff has no onboard battery, the rechargeable Micro Battery Pak & Charger makes the unit self-contained. The Battery Pak and its charger are separate accessories and are not included with the driver unless the offer you select explicitly says so.

What mounting hardware and controls come in the box?

Every Micro Anchor ships with an adjustable quick-release bracket, a 2-button key fob remote, the Advanced Dash Switch and the 15-foot power cord, all running on Power-Pole's C-Monster control system. The dash switch adds independent control and three deployment speeds — fast, medium and stealth — while the key fob handles up and down from anywhere on deck. Not included: the spike, the Micro Battery Pak and charger, transom clamps, custom adapter brackets and longer power cords. Those are separate accessories, so budget for the ones your installation needs.

Can the driver unit be removed or moved to another boat?

Yes. The driver mounts to an adjustable quick-release bracket, so it lifts off without tools for storage, trailering or transfer to a second vessel. Moving it between boats in practice means fitting a bracket and a 12-volt power connection on each one — the driver comes off, the mounting hardware stays behind. That is a large part of why the Micro suits anglers who fish more than one kayak or skiff. The unit weighs 7.5 pounds on its own and 11.5 pounds with the clamp, light enough for one person to handle over the side of a kayak.

How should the Micro Anchor be cared for after saltwater use?

Rinse the driver unit, the spike and every moving part with fresh water after each trip. The housing carries an IP-68 rating for temporary submersion, but that rating describes water intrusion into the housing — it does not stop salt from building up on external surfaces, fasteners and the spike. If up-and-down operation starts to sound noisy, remove the spike and run the unit for a full 30 seconds while flushing it gently with low-flow fresh water. Keep battery and switch connections tight and free of corrosion, mount the fuse holder upright so moisture cannot collect in it, and inspect the spike for cracks, splinters or dents. What warranty applies to the Micro Anchor?

The Micro driver unit and adjustable mounting bracket carry a 24-month warranty: a unit that proves defective within that period is repaired or replaced free of charge. The Micro Battery Pak & Charger carries its own one-year warranty. Coverage is activated by registering the anchor on Power-Pole's website, or by returning the completed warranty card within 10 days of purchase — so register it the week it arrives and keep the dated sales receipt as proof of purchase. The warranty does not cover water damage, cosmetic damage, or labor and assembly costs, nor defects caused by improper assembly or disassembly, modification, accident, misuse, abuse, negligence or exposure to corrosive elements. Awesome for Bote Sup

Fishing the inshore coast of East Central Florida there were many days when the wind kicked up and I had to get off the water. The micro anchor has allowed me to stay out and fish. If I hook a fish, or break off on an oyster bed, a double tap on the fob around my neck holds my position until I’m ready to cast again. My internal debate was, do I want to stop (micro anchor) or go (motor system). A motor combined with my PDL would have been convenient. But, the ability to hold my position and thoroughly fish an area has been priceless!

I am very disappointed in Power Pole as a company. First, the micro doesn't come with the Spike or the battery. For the $600+ price point it should come with the battery and spike. I bought 2 of these for 2 different kayaks. The spikes are absolutely garbage. They say that you can mount a visi-light from YAK Attack on top of the spike. I mounted 2 lights with on top of the spikes and both broke the spikes before I even made it out of the subdivision. The plastic on top of the spikes is way too brittle for mounting anything. NOTE: THIS IS NOT A BAD REVIEW OF ECO FISHING SHOP, THEY ARE A GREAT COMPANY.
