3 Waters Big Fish 103 Pedal Drive Fishing Kayak

Steering cable broke within two times of use!!! Shear pin broke off as well on second trip. Other than those two issues starting out great to fish off of.

The ordering process was easy. Good price for the BF 103. Fragile Pack delivered with no damage, but zero communication except for an email saying they will communicate. Delivered after 10 and if I lived anywhere else I might not have woken up to a kayak on the side of my house. The Kayak is great. In MN with snow still on the ground so all I've been doing is setting it up. Padel holders, fish finder, anchor rig. The fish finder transducer mount is the only thing I can complain about before I get it in the water. When the holder is up so it will not scrape when launching, the lid is not able to close over it. Not a fan of taking a chance with it just above even with the hull. 3 more months until launch, can't wait!

I've had the Big fish 103 for a few months now and have taken it out over a dozen times and love it. It carries everything I need for a day of fishing.
It is on the heavier side and can be a lil bit of a struggle to load it on top of a vehicle but, the stability it offers on the water is well worth it.

I was so excited about this boat! I wanted to love it! Took it out for first run, got hit by a sudden storm and the PDL Drive system is very slow. Only maxed.75 mph against the 20 mph winds. It took 2 hours to get back across the lake when normally takes 20 minutes in my other boat, Lost Creek…In same conditions. I believe having a oiled chain drive system makes a smooth feel, but lacks speed in serious situations that may arise suddenly out on the lake. The friction of the chain through oil causes lots of excessive friction and or be a very strong person with lots of endurance. I’ve emailed about a return process, never got a response. Lack of Customer Service 50% of the time.

The delivery was great, no problems with packing. The setup was also pretty straightforward, easy to do, and takes maybe an hour. The kayak itself is outstanding in both appearance and design. It’s easy to add accessories and a the only other thing I bought was the Wilderness Systems cart which was a must. With the Propedal installed and extra equipment the kayak becomes too heavy to manhandle. But, for me the choice between space and stability, or lightweight and unstable was an easy one. This kayak is an awesome ride!

Great source of exercise. Since I have had neck and back surgery. I have enjoyed fishing more now

When are kayak arrived, we bolted on the various pieces that needed done. Went out and test drove around the lake. And then, after that small amount of using the kayak, hearts started to fall off. A pedal, the eight ball shifter, other bolts were loose. We looked on YouTube and saw that that was a common problem with these kayaks and was recommended to put the liquid lock joint compound on all boats before them in tight.

It is so awesome and am loving it so much wow no i go were places i cant get in my boat am so satisfied with it i recommend it to my friends..

Everything handles great. Water comes through the front box but seams manageable. Not to sure about the 8ball steering handle but also is working well. Pedal drive is a bit noisy but. It effecting any of my fishing. Been using it Huntington Beach Harbor at easy launch spots being that it’s my first kayak. Took it out 4 times with a total of 17 fish. Spotted bay bass, sand bass and halibut. Just wish the seat was higher. Bought a seat pad to sit on bringing me up about 2-3”. Huge difference. Can’t wait to take it out again.

Worth the money

Exhalent customer service. Very pleased with my purchase. Only downfall, it was wrapped in plastic with fragile stickers. But there where multiple shoe prints on top. Stepped on the beaver tail, but everything was ok.

Great to deal with. Was missing the cart when we got the kayak, but they got it out the day I called them and we had it within a couple of days. As far as the kayak goes I've been happy. Wish the prop had a little more pitch or was able to be changed out.

The 103 looks so much bigger on video but once It came im thinking i should've got the 108. I'm taking it out for the first time this weekend.

The prop could work better with more pitch
The graph connection lets water into the hatch
The hatch is great for battery stowage
But with water comes in causes issues
Bought this for my wife
She caught 2. 19 inch trout the first time out

I shopped the low end price point of pedal drives for more than a year. The BF103 does everything I need and exceeds my expectations as far as construction, pedal drive and stability. I know I'll flip it sooner or later, but I can freely stand a fish from this platform, and getting in and out is a breeze because it is so stable. Highly recommended. EcoFishing Shops shipping was superb and their help as I was dialing in my package was world class. #customerforlife
If you are considering a Yak, I've fished for decades. Boats, shore, paddle kayaks and modified inner tube. This is the simplest, easiest way to get in the water and in front of fish. You will be pleasantly surprised at how stealthy you are (properly rigged) compared to a boat.

It’s everything I expected. Fun on the water and to fish out of. I’m just trying to figure out how to handle the kayak on dry land better. But I’ll get there!

ive had my 103 a year now and i like it because its very comfortable and stable with me on it 260 lbs. it glides through the water very nice. pedaling it does make my legs hurt and i think its because the seat is to low for me so i switch between pedaling and paddling. the most annoying thing is the eight ball steering handle in that it is always in the way when paddling or getting out on left side and the screw that tightens it down has stripped out i think that it was very poorly designed so until i can figure out a better way i use a small screw driver to turn with. i may try to sell it and go with my first choice a sportsman 106 paddle kayak.

Happy with the 103 however the back clips broke instantly very cheap and the beavertail system pull cord not a good design a lever would be better like on the Old Town.

I was new to kayaking and wasn't sure what to expect....have to say, this kayak is awesome.....peddles easy and goes thru the water with ease......only thing that I see was an issue was the paddling......tri-hull design is great for stability but not so much for paddling......but isn't really an issue as long as you stay in deeper water......overall, would rate it 5 stars

This is my very first kayak,.... Ok Even first Fishing Kayak and I couldn't be happier!! Highly recommend and this company as well. There is however a few thing's I would change on this yak. 1. This in my opinion is the worst of all that needs to be addressed BIG TIME!! The screw for the drive when it's in the water SUCKS! Lol, but really it feels like the wrong size an wiggles lose when pedaling and it scratches the crap out of the paint letting the chance of rust to kick in. Need like a flip clip or something like that for a good solid drive. 2. The port holes for water actually traps water instead of allowing all of the water to get out, it pool's in the corners and side's. 3 the fin pull string bit needs fixing big time!! Let me feel like I spent $2,000 dollars you know what I mean. Other than that Love it an going to be buying one for my wife! Thank you all for the help an phone call! The FragilePAK NOT great an not bad but they need work!! Warning they won't call 30 mins out they just show up.

Very knowledgeable staff. When calling to ask questions, I felt that my concerns or questions were all that mattered and that even just my phone call was treated like an A+ customer. I hate ordering anything for delivery, but this was seemless, yes I had to wait to receive the yak, but everything they stated or shared how the order and delivery would take place happened.

I ordered my BF103 on January 31st and received it February 8th via FedEx. I was weary to opt for the expensive shipping because they do not guarantee a damage-free delivery, but fortunately our delivery for seamless. The kayak came wrapped extremely well and the FedEx carriers were very careful with it. I am extremely happy with my experience with Eco Fishing Shop and have been recommending them to fellow kayakers already.

I Love fishing ,wish i could afford a boat.
The Big fish 103 is what i chose and its a boat and more.Its sturdy on the water and gives me peace and quiet.Totally relaxes me.Best thing w pedel drive is you dont even feel stress in legs easier than a bicycle.
Had problem w plastic head knob...
Customer service was right on point got my replacement in 2 days.Cant say enough. Thanks Mike in cust service,great job.Cant wait to go out on the water again.
