Frequently Asked Questions About the CAJO Outpost 128 PDL

Who is the CAJO Outpost 128 PDL designed for?

The CAJO Outpost 128 PDL is the largest rigid hull in the Pro Series, built for anglers who rig heavily and want one platform that can be paddled, pedaled or motorized. At 12 feet 8 inches long and 35 inches wide with a 500-pound capacity, it offers the deck space and load headroom for full electronics, a motor and battery, or a pedal drive. The Terra 116 PDL is the stand-up focused alternative in the same series.

What are the CAJO Outpost 128 PDL dimensions, hull weight and rigged weight?

The CAJO Outpost 128 PDL is 12 feet 8 inches long and 35 inches wide, with a published hull weight of 75 pounds and a published rigged weight of 103 pounds. It is a solo sit-on-top built from rotomolded high-density polyethylene. What the rigged figure counts is not published, so treat 103 pounds as the planning number and call us if you are sizing a rack to the pound. Full specifications are on the CAJO Outpost 128 PDL specifications page.

How much weight can the CAJO Outpost 128 PDL carry?

The CAJO Outpost 128 PDL has a maximum capacity of 500 pounds, and that figure is the complete operating load rather than a paddler allowance. Count the occupant, the seat, any pedal drive and mount, a motor, a battery, electronics, tackle, coolers and cargo. Leave a safety and performance margin instead of loading to the published maximum. A motor-and-battery build on top of a pedal drive consumes that margin quickly.

What is included with the CAJO Outpost 128 PDL, and does it include a pedal drive?

The CAJO Outpost 128 PDL base configuration does not include a pedal drive. The base kayak includes the hull with the Horizon Pro Seat, three Power Plates, the removable electronics console, rod storage and the Fatback Traverse Rudder System. A drive ships only when you select an option here that expressly includes it. A fin-drive setup needs its own model-appropriate mount, and no paddle is included — we stock the CAJO Avalon Carbon Angler Pro paddle separately.

What propulsion systems can the CAJO Outpost 128 PDL use?

The CAJO Outpost 128 PDL can be paddled, pedaled or motorized. The rigid Pro Series hulls use the CAJO Traverse Pedal Drive, which runs a 10:1 gear ratio with instant forward and reverse, a Prop Lock system, a Shaft Lock, an integrated rod stager and quick-release pins. A fin drive needs its own separate mount, and a motor uses neither. No drive weight or minimum operating depth is published, so ask us if shallow-water clearance matters.

How do the CAJO Outpost 128 PDL electronics console and Power Plates work?

The CAJO Outpost 128 PDL has a removable electronics console that accommodates a transducer up to 12 inches and a battery up to 30Ah, plus three Power Plates giving dedicated points for electrical rigging rather than drilling wherever a wire needs to pass. No battery, transducer or fish finder is included. Because the console is removable, the electronics come off the kayak rather than staying on a parked trailer.

Can a motor be added to the CAJO Outpost 128 PDL?

The CAJO Outpost 128 PDL hull is motor ready. Motor ready means the hull provides mounting locations. It does not mean a motor, battery, charger, mount, steering hardware, wiring, circuit protection or registration equipment is included; each is separate. No maximum thrust, horsepower or battery voltage is published for this hull and mounting configuration, so we do not state one. Send us five details — kayak model, motor model, bow or stern mounting, steering method and battery setup — and we will confirm what fits. Remember that everything installed counts toward the 500-pound capacity.

How should the CAJO Outpost 128 PDL be transported, cleaned and stored?

The CAJO Outpost 128 PDL should be rinsed with fresh water after saltwater use, dried, and stored out of prolonged direct sunlight. Support the hull evenly, because rotomolded polyethylene can deform where it rests on a single hard point over months. For transport use properly rated straps per your kayak, rack and vehicle instructions, tight enough to hold without visibly compressing the hull. Transport damage is excluded from warranty coverage. Whether rooftop loading is practical depends on your vehicle's roof-load limit, rack capacity, loading aid, the installed equipment and your lifting ability.

What warranty applies to the CAJO Outpost 128 PDL, and how are claims handled?

The CAJO Outpost 128 PDL hull carries lifetime limited coverage against manufacturing defects. Parts attached to the kayak are covered for one year, and an optional Traverse Pedal Drive carries five-year coverage, so different components run on different clocks. Proof of purchase is required and no registration deadline is published. Coverage is determined through the official warranty claim process; our team will help identify the component and assemble the required documentation. Exclusions are in the CAJO warranty policy.
