The only issue I had with Cajo 128 is the seat slide when using traverse pedal. Very hard to get it to stay in position on the rails. Very minor issue which I corrected. I’ve had the kayak on the water several times and I’m very impressed

I am not new to fishing, however I am new to the kayaking world and fell in love with it after doing tremendous amounts of research on fishing kayaks. I primarily fish for Steelhead in our rivers and Walleye on Lake Erie and this kayak will most definitely do both!!! Customer service is excellent and Travis is the man! Everything was shipped perfectly and I tracked the order and was messaged that the kayak was in my area and being delivered in 30 mins. Spot on from purchase all the way to my doorstep. I highly recommend EcoFishing to anyone like myself who is new to the sport!!

A few things...

First off, I do really appreciate how modular the layout is and what can be done. I've admired this kayak since I first discovered CAJO and have been patiently awaiting the release. This is one of the reasons I chose this particular kayak (modularity). That being said, I have experienced some issues that are currently being looked at by CAJO's warranty team. Traverse rudder, steering and pedal drive. The primary reason I was attracted to this particular drive is the fact I can lock the pedals out to quickly pull up though the hull. When I tried everything out on dry land, all appeared to operate as it should. However, my first use I could not get the prop to pull through the hull and had to fumble around for more than I'd like to. When I was finally able to find a position to allow me to do so I could only tilt the pedal drive so far forward due to the orientation of the pedals. Very frustrating to say the least. Once I was back on dry land and removed the drive from the kayak I found that the prop over rotates once the pedals are locked out. For the rudder, once assembled and attached to the kayak, it appeared to be stiff and would not kick down completely. Once I gave it a tap, it seems to complete the travel to the down position. Trying to use the pull cord to retract was very tight, but doable from a standing beside on dry land perspective. Once on the water for the first time, after paddling out to a safe depth, I deployed the rudder only to find it was stuck up right pointed towards the sky. To fully extend, I had to twist my body to tap it down with the paddle. As you read above regarding the pedal drive. Similar issues with retracting the rudder where I could not pull hard enough on the cord to retract. I actually had to call my buddy to come back and give me a hand flipping it up so I could lock it down and we could land finally. Throughout the first use, the steering was tight and felt like the cables were constantly getting caught. The housings were flat, nothing pinching down or twisted that would have created an issue. Ultimately I discovered there was some fraying of the cable towards the steering handle (I didn't figure this out until very recently unfortunately). The warranty team has sent me some replacement items and I am hoping this is all fixed once received and I can get back out enjoying this kayak. Will update at a later time if no further issues. Fingers crossed.
