Feelfree Lure 11.5 Overdrive V2 Fishing Kayak

Received my new Overdrive Lure 11.5 V2 and I have to say the quality and the shipping/packaging were very well done. Well worth the extra fee for wrapping. Communication is excellent. There are a few disappointments: (1) When I opened the front cubby hole there were a lot of plastic shavings inside that I had to vacuum out. (2) I could not get any video help as shown in the picture below. I kept receiving an error message when I tried to scan the QR code on the kayak and packaging. I tried 3 different computers (2 different phones and 1 laptop) thinking it may be an antivirus software block or something, but all got the same error message. Hunting around the Internet I could not find an installation video with the newer models but I found enough to put the equipment together. The hardcopy instructions that were included were for the overdrive motor model which did not apply to my purchase and were of no help to me. (3) There were 6 scupper plugs included, but you need 8 so I had to purchase some extra. Lastly, the pedal mechanism "catches" slightly when you are lifting the unit up out of the water, the included spacers did not help. If not for the 4 items above, I would have rated 5 stars. This is not a condemnation, but hopefully, constructive feedback.

The lure is stabile , but doesn’t turn as good as my old kayak. The overdrive seems really stiff as well. I do like the stability and the overall layout. I think I will learn to like it more as I get used to it.

Loving this kayak. I use it for fishing primary and it's superb. I am 6'1" and about 190 pounds and it's very comfortable for me with lots of adjustment. Really enjoy the keel wheel integration . I am not fond of the proprietary track system, I have had to buy extra adaptors to use traditional t track [such as yakattack stuff].

I don't have a lot of experience with kayaks other than the big box store specials that are basically giant milk cartons. This is my first quality fishing kayak and it's basically perfect for me. The seat is super comfortable, the pedal drive is easy to deploy and remove, and I can stand anywhere on the deck and feel secure. The deck stays mostly dry with the scupper plugs but can still pop them open and drain if you need. For reference, I'm around 250 pounds and 6'1" tall, and I can pedal this thing for hours. I just bought the motordrive for it, which should extend my range even more.
Pros: seat is amazing, adjusting for pedal stroke is really easy; dry storage is huge; lots of rod storage; tank well holds the rectangle blackpak easily; lots of mounting options; lots of stability

Cons: the tracks are held on with small screws and flex easy; you have to spend extra on track adapters since feelfree doesn't make any actual accessories for their track; the wheel in the keel coupled with the rudder make it very difficult to load on a vehicle, especially roof racks for an SUV; the drive is fairly loud even with good lithium grease; the container the pedal drive comes in can't be used for transport unless you take the pedals off which is a pain. Save the money and shipping weight and just put them in a box.

Eco Fishing Shop took really good care of me through the delayed shipping process. The LTL company for shipping was really slow to my area, but that is not Eco's fault. The delivery crew themselves were really great though. Zero damage in transit, very well packaged.

Love my Lure 11.5 so far. I alto own a Lure 2 Tandem kayak. I bought the 11.5 so I could transport it in the back of my truck to more remote locations. So far I love it! The storage hatch up front is perfect for transporting my fishing rods, storing my battery and other gear. I was also pleasantly surprised how well this kayak tracks and turns on a dime. It is also very stable and I can easily stand in it. This kayak has already caught a lot of fish and hopefully many more!

The kayak also shipped to my house in 1 1/2 weeks with no issues.

I Use the Feelfree 11.5 V2 with overdrive to fish the flats of the Tampa/Clearwater area of Florida. The 11.5 is perfect for this type of fishing. Stable enough to stand and handles the chop of Tampa bay. The chair is great and ultra comfortable once you get the hang of it's adjustment controls. From the order date it arrived in about two weeks. Eco packs these kayaks very well and I used their shipping company that requiers no inpsection at delivery. After the first day on the water I found approx. two gallons of water in the hull after eight hours out. After a careful inspection I found cracks in four of the scupper holes. I called Eco who inturn called Feelfree and received a new replacement hull in about a week. Awesome customer service on both ends. I would buy from Eco again with no hesitation. Customer service is important and Eco fishing shop nails it. Thanks Eco.

Finally received my kayak after 2 months! The shipping company is terrible; no way to track in real time and do not answer email or phone. That said, I tried out the Lure 11.5 this weekend. It's a beast to carry. The website says 85 pounds without seat and overdrive. Unfortunately the seat is not easily removed. The seat is really awesome, although I could not easily master moving it front to back. The kayak is very stable. I fished standing up and with the seat raised. The pedal system works great but requires strong legs. The rudder mechanism is very easy to use, and locks in an up position easily when on land. One little convenience item is that it lacks a cup holder, but I think you can add one to the rails. Overall, I'm really happy with my purchase and can't wait to be on the water catching fish.

They thought of just about everything with this kayak. I knocked off one star for some subtle things that could be improved upon. 1, the rudder. It works beautifully, but when you're wheeling the kayak around, it's difficult to keep the rudder housing from dragging the ground (even when rudder is in upright position). 2, there was a small amount of assembly required, and the instructions were difficult to find (YouTube is your best bet here). Even if they just included a little piece of paper that had a QR code linking to youtube instructions, that would be fine. But it was kind of a shot in the dark otherwise. As far as the kayak goes, though, it's smooth, incredibly stable, comfortable, and rugged. This thing is a fishing machine. And delivery wise, I couldn't be happier. The 5th star is just those small design and experience details.
