Standard features include the removable sonar & electronics pod for your fish finder and transducer, UNI-Track accessory mounting system and as with all Lures, the 13.5 is rudder ready. Decent kayak

I received my feel free days before my fishing trip and the first time I put it in the water the gears in the 8ball steering stripped and I no longer had steering. Other than the steering issue the kayak has been just what I was looking for. Hopefully they can fix this issue by using aluminum gears in the future.

I have had a Feelfree Lure 11.5 for about 4 yrs now and really enjoy it. The main reason am upgrading to the 13.5 is because of the 500lb capacity. For lake fishing, the 11.5 was more than enough for me and gear but being in Wa state, I also go out on the ocean. Since I am 260lbs and I always seem to bring everything AND the kitchen sink on the ocean, I wanted a little more capacity for flexability. I looked at some other manufactures and they all would work but the price point for this model was 1/3rd the cost of others in the same length class. I found the 11.5 very stable and expect the same with the 13.5. I have taken the Lure out in 7-9 ft combined seas (not recommended LOL) and never felt like it was going to tip over. I will try to add to this post later when fishing season opens and I have oppotunity to run it through it's paces.

I love this kayak, tracks well, smooth pedal drive with decent speed that doesn’t wear you out, plenty of storage and room, stability is great. My only issue is the wheel in the keel makes it difficult to load on a ladder rack as the kayak wants to roll off when lifting, a chock under the wheel helps.

Great Yak

I've had this yak for a year now. I love it. Its great on my local small lakes and can navigate LOZ easily. I'm 6ft 180lbs and I find it very stable and I'm able to stand when I want. I recently added the motor drive to the overdrive pedal system. This thing can haul @ss. Great yak.

Lure 13.5 Update

Now been pedaling & paddling for a few weeks and LOVE IT!! No real agility difference noted coming from my Moken 12.5 to the Lure 13.5 when paddling. Can get into same close quarters as before so I'm not losing fishing spots.
Pedaling is awesome! Drive seems smoother the more I use it....or I may be getting smoother. Regardless, I'm fishing longer with less overall fatigue. Getting drive system in/out and switching from drive to up position is quite easy. TIP:Install & remove drive with boat IN WATER. Rudder is more useful than I expected as it helps whether pedaling or paddling.
SEAT IS WONDERFUL! Paddle and pedal position choices make for a comfortable day. I'm not standing up as much in the Lure b/c my legs and back don't ache as they did in the Moken V1 seat.
Comparisons Lure V2 vs Moken V1: Paddle storage on side is better on Lure. Inside storage about the same but the extra deck box on the Lure has more functionality as more varied sizes of items fit than in the Moken long, center storage box. Rear storage a bit more on Lure. Lure heavier but still don't need help to load or unload. Lure (without rudder in water)tracks slightly better than Moken.
Glad I got the Lure 13.5. Opting for the pedal drive and rudder was a good choice, too.

Let’s start with customer service. Free shipping on my Feelfree 13.5 V2 and it arrived 4 days from the day I ordered it. Now comes the customer service. The kayak was damaged to the sinking point. Back of kayak had holes in it... it had been crushed in shipping. Couple of pictures and an email and Jared had a new kayak on the way. Spot on service.

Now let’s talk kayak. I’ve been a kayak fisherman for 6 years. I have a Feelfree Lure 10 for skinny water but wanted to have more propulsion options. I have been able to zero in on what makes a kayak what I need. Today was 13.5 maiden voyage. I just happened to be helping a friend of mine with his first trip on the water with his kayak. It was a struggle to get his out of the truck... no side handles. My Feelfree has 4 molded handles all around. We had to put wheels under his to get it to the water. The Feelfree has the wheel in the keel. In a nutshell the Feelfree larger kayak is a one man process and the smaller kayak a two man process just because of small details. I ordered the pedal drive. This one is a propeller drive and to go forward and backward you just peddle forward and backward. Nothing to switch like other style kayaks. My hands are free to fish instead of switching gears. It’s not the fastest kayak on the water but if you are an inland fisherman fishing lakeshores, docks or sunken tree tops this kayak set up is a dream. When you get in shallow you just pull the drive up out of the water with the spring loaded assist. Grab your paddle and pull right up in the treetop and fish right down through it. Ready to move on... back out of the shallows, drop the peddle drive back down in the water and off you go. As I get older I may purchase the motor that simply slides Into my pedal drive and propels the kayak... no retro fitting of a trolling motor.
