The NT600 owner's manual lists a 48V deep-cycle marine battery, a 48V LFP lithium battery or a 48V lithium cobalt oxide battery, and publishes no wire gauge, breaker or fuse amperage — so we will not supply those from general practice. Speed and range move with battery capacity and condition, hull design, total weight aboard, how deep the motor is set, throttle position, and wind, current, waves and water conditions. Newport does not publish the hull, load or test conditions behind the numbers, so treat all three as estimates. A heavier boat at full throttle will not see 130 miles.

How do the NT600 tiller, display, trim, tilt, and reverse lock work?

The Newport NT600 uses an ambidextrous adjustable tiller handle, a full digital LCD showing speed, battery percentage and voltage, four manual trim positions at 0, 5, 11 and 17 degrees, and a reverse and tilt lock. The tiller sets up for either hand, and it can be adapted for remote steering. Trim positions match the shaft angle to your transom so the propeller pushes level, not bow-up. The tilt lock holds it clear of the water; the reverse lock keeps it seated when backing. Stop it before changing trim.

What is included with the NT600, and what safety or care steps should owners follow?

The Newport NT600 comes with the motor head and tiller handle, the 10.6-inch propeller, mounting hardware, a magnetic kill switch, and the user manual with warranty card. The 48V battery and charger are not included. Clip the magnetic kill switch to yourself before every run, and never run the motor out of the water. Rinse it with fresh water after every use, especially after salt, then store it completely dry and clean.
