Frequently Asked Questions About the NuCanoe F10

Who is the F10 designed for?

The F10 is the compact end of the ACCESS Series — for anglers who want the wide, stand-and-fish NuCanoe deck but need something short enough to store easily and launch alone.

At 10 ft and 62 lbs it is the lightest hull in the NuCanoe lineup, which makes it the easiest to handle solo. The trade-off is capacity: 500 lbs against the Frontier 12’s 650. Our NuCanoe buyer’s guide walks through the range.

What are its dimensions?

Length 10', width 39", height 12–17", draft 3–5".

At 10 ft it is short enough to fit in a garage without dedicated racking and to sit in a long pickup bed with the tailgate down.

How much does it weigh, and how do I move it?

The hull weighs 62 lbs, which is the lightest in the range.

Whether rooftop transport is practical depends on your vehicle’s roof-load limit, your rack system, whether you use a loading aid and your ability to lift the kayak safely. Remove detachable motors, batteries, seats and equipment before loading whenever appropriate. Our car-topping guide covers the racks and loading aids that help.

For getting it from the vehicle to the water, a transport cart does most of the work. For getting it from home to the launch, a trailer is the usual answer once you are rigged heavy. At 10 ft you will want around 10.5 ft of clear space for garage or shed storage.

What is the difference between max capacity and self-bailing capacity?

Maximum capacity is 500 pounds with the scuppers plugged. Self-bailing capacity is 350 pounds with the scuppers open. Both ratings are calculated from passengers plus gear.

Include motors, batteries, electronics, tackle and other added equipment when calculating the gear load. When the load exceeds the self-bailing capacity with the scuppers open, water may come through the scuppers. Leave an appropriate safety margin rather than planning to operate at the published maximum.

The two numbers matter more than most buyers realize. If you fish with the deck draining, the self-bailing figure is your practical working limit rather than the maximum.

Can I add a pedal drive or a motor?

Yes. The F10 is compatible with the PIVOT Drive pedal system, the NuCanoe EPS electric system, a bow-mount trolling motor, and a small outboard.

PIVOT Drive production ended in March 2025, so complete drives are limited to remaining inventory. Component parts, service, repair and warranty support continue. PIVOT Drives and related hardware are model-specific and are not automatically interchangeable between hulls. Contact Eco Fishing Shop to confirm availability and compatibility.

Maximum power is 2.5 HP. The bow-mount bracket for this hull is part #7150 — brackets are hull-specific and not interchangeable, so check with us before ordering one.

Is a seat included?

Yes. The 360 Fusion Seat is included as standard — you are not buying it separately.

It is a frame-and-fabric seat rather than a molded plastic one, with the fabric and frame fused together so it holds tension and does not sag, and it is rated to 400 lbs. Spare or second seats are available if you fish tandem — we stock the 360 Fusion Seat separately.

How should I clean, store and maintain it?

Rinse the kayak with fresh water after saltwater use and store it out of direct sunlight.

When protected or covered, it may be stored right-side up; it may also be stored upside down on crossbars or rails, or supported on its side gunwale. Do not suspend it from the carrying handles or deck rings, and avoid concentrated pressure points during storage.

The limited warranty covers defects in workmanship and materials, not damage caused by misuse, modification, neglect or improper storage. If you have no shaded or indoor storage, a kayak cover is worth budgeting for alongside the kayak.

What warranty applies, and do I need to register it?

For personal use, the limited warranty covers defects in workmanship and materials for three years from the original purchase date. Commercial-use coverage is one year.

Registration within 30 days of purchase is mandatory and can be completed using the registration card or the online registration form. Do it the week the kayak arrives.
