Who is the Unlimited designed for?

The Unlimited is the do-everything NuCanoe platform — a 12'6" open deck built to be rigged heavily, fished from standing, and powered however you like.

It suits anglers who want one boat that can paddle, take a bow-mount motor, or run electric propulsion, and who want room for a second seat or a dog. If you want the same idea in a smaller package look at the U10; if you want more deck and capacity, the Unlimited MAX. Our NuCanoe buyer’s guide compares them.

What are its dimensions?

Length 12'6", width 41", height 12–17", draft 3–5".

The 41" beam is what makes it a genuine standing platform, and the 3–5" draft means it still floats in very shallow water once you are there.

What is the difference between max capacity and self-bailing capacity?

Maximum capacity is 650 pounds with the scuppers plugged. Self-bailing capacity is 400 pounds with the scuppers open. Both ratings are calculated from passengers plus gear.

Include motors, batteries, electronics, tackle and other added equipment when calculating the gear load. When the load exceeds the self-bailing capacity with the scuppers open, water may come through the scuppers. Leave an appropriate safety margin rather than planning to operate at the published maximum.

The two numbers matter more than most buyers realize. If you fish with the deck draining, the self-bailing figure is your practical working limit rather than the maximum.

How much does it weigh, and how do I move it?

The hull weighs 84 lbs before anything is rigged to it.

Whether rooftop transport is practical depends on your vehicle’s roof-load limit, your rack system, whether you use a loading aid and your ability to lift the kayak safely. Remove detachable motors, batteries, seats and equipment before loading whenever appropriate. Our car-topping guide covers the racks and loading aids that help.

For getting it from the vehicle to the water, a transport cart does most of the work. For getting it from home to the launch, a trailer is the usual answer once you are rigged heavy. At 12'6" you will want around 13 ft of clear space for garage or shed storage.

How much rigging space does it actually have?

Over 22 feet of TopLoad aluminum track, three wiring access plates, four thru-hull wiring ports, and an XL transducer pod sized for today’s larger electronics.

That is the practical difference between the Unlimited and most fishing kayaks: you are not looking for somewhere to put a graph, a bow-mount motor and a transducer — the mounting points and the wiring routes are already there. The Tarpon Drainage System with seven scuppers keeps the deck clear while you work.

What can I power it with?

The Unlimited can be paddled or equipped with compatible bow-mount motors, small outboards, the NuCanoe EPS, QuickConnect Rudder, or the model-specific PIVOT Drive.

PIVOT Drive production ended in March 2025, so complete drives are limited to remaining inventory. Component parts, service, repair and warranty support continue. PIVOT Drives and related hardware are model-specific and are not automatically interchangeable between hulls. Contact Eco Fishing Shop to confirm availability and compatibility.

Maximum power is 2.5 HP. For a bow-mount motor the hull-specific bracket is part #7156, which covers the Unlimited and the U10. For an outboard the mount is #7106, shared across the U10, Unlimited and Unlimited MAX. Brackets are not interchangeable across the wider range, so tell us what you are mounting.

Is a seat included?

Yes. The 360 Fusion Seat is included as standard — you are not buying it separately.

It is a frame-and-fabric seat rather than a molded plastic one, with the fabric and frame fused together so it holds tension and does not sag, and it is rated to 400 lbs. Spare or second seats are available if you fish tandem — we stock the 360 Fusion Seat separately.

How should I clean, store and maintain it?

Rinse the kayak with fresh water after saltwater use and store it out of direct sunlight.

When protected or covered, it may be stored right-side up; it may also be stored upside down on crossbars or rails, or supported on its side gunwale. Do not suspend it from the carrying handles or deck rings, and avoid concentrated pressure points during storage.

The limited warranty covers defects in workmanship and materials, not damage caused by misuse, modification, neglect or improper storage. If you have no shaded or indoor storage, a kayak cover is worth budgeting for alongside the kayak.

What warranty applies, and do I need to register it?

For personal use, the limited warranty covers defects in workmanship and materials for three years from the original purchase date. Commercial-use coverage is one year.

Registration within 30 days of purchase is mandatory and can be completed using the registration card or the online registration form. Do it the week the kayak arrives.
