Who is the NuCanoe Unlimited designed for?

The NuCanoe Unlimited is a 12-foot-6-inch open-deck platform with built-in rigging and wiring provision. Supported propulsion categories are paddle, bow-mount trolling motor, small outboard within the 2.5 HP maximum, the NuCanoe EPS electric system and the QuickConnect rudder.

Maximum capacity is 650 pounds, and seating covers one to two people plus a buddy seat. Our NuCanoe buyer's guide compares it with the smaller U10 and the larger Unlimited MAX.

What are the NuCanoe Unlimited dimensions?

The NuCanoe Unlimited is 12 feet 6 inches long and 41 inches wide, with a height of 12 to 17 inches and a draft of 3 to 5 inches. The hull weighs 84 pounds.

Published draft is a range and varies with load. Compare that 12-foot-6-inch hull length against your storage area and your vehicle, rack and trailer dimensions, and allow clear space beyond the hull itself for rigging.

What is the difference between maximum and self-bailing capacity on the NuCanoe Unlimited?

The NuCanoe Unlimited is rated to 650 pounds with the scuppers plugged and 400 pounds with the scuppers open. Both figures cover passengers and gear together, so count motors, batteries, electronics and tackle.

Exceeding the self-bailing capacity with the scuppers open may allow water to enter through the scuppers instead of draining as intended. Leave a margin below the applicable published rating. Our guide to choosing a fishing kayak for bigger anglers shows how to calculate usable capacity.

How much does the NuCanoe Unlimited weigh, and how should it be transported?

The NuCanoe Unlimited hull weighs 84 pounds before anything is rigged to it. Whether rooftop transport is practical depends on your vehicle's roof-load rating, your rack system, whether you use a loading aid, and your ability to lift safely.

Remove detachable motors, batteries, seats and equipment before loading. A cart, a trailer or a second pair of hands may suit better once it is rigged. Our car-topping guide covers racks and loading aids.

How much rigging space does the NuCanoe Unlimited have?

The NuCanoe Unlimited carries more than 22 feet of TopLoad aluminum track, three wiring access plates, four thru-hull wiring ports and an XL transducer pod sized for current electronics. The mounting points and wiring routes are built in rather than added later.

A graph, a bow-mount motor and a transducer each have a designated mounting point and wiring route. The Tarpon Drainage System uses seven scuppers with TARPON drainage channels to clear water from the deck.

What can the NuCanoe Unlimited be powered with?

The NuCanoe Unlimited can be paddled or fitted with a bow-mount trolling motor, an outboard up to its 2.5 HP maximum, the NuCanoe EPS electric system, or the QuickConnect rudder. The hull-specific bow motor mount is part #7156, and brackets are not interchangeable between models.

PIVOT Drive production ended in March 2025, so complete drives are limited to remaining inventory, while component parts, service, repair and warranty support continue. Drives and their control hardware are model-specific. Tell us what you plan to mount and we will confirm the hardware before you order.

Does the NuCanoe Unlimited include a seat?

The NuCanoe Unlimited includes the 360 Fusion Seat as standard equipment, so it is not a separate purchase. It is a frame-and-fabric seat rather than molded plastic, with the fabric tensioned into the frame so it does not sag, and it rotates for casting and rigging.

A second seat is worth considering if you fish tandem, and we stock the 360 Fusion Seat separately. Check compatibility with us before moving a seat between NuCanoe models.

How should the NuCanoe Unlimited be cleaned and stored?

Rinse the NuCanoe Unlimited with fresh water after saltwater use and store it out of direct sunlight. When covered or otherwise protected it can be stored right-side up; it can also sit upside down on crossbars or rails, or rest on a side gunwale.

Do not suspend the hull from the carry handles or deck rings, and avoid concentrated pressure points. The limited warranty covers defects in workmanship and materials, not damage from misuse, modification, neglect or improper storage.

What warranty covers the NuCanoe Unlimited, and is registration required?

The NuCanoe Unlimited hull is covered for three years against defects in workmanship and materials in personal use, and for one year in commercial use. Registration within 30 days of purchase is mandatory and is completed with the registration card or the online registration form.
