NuCanoe Unlimited Fishing Kayak

Very stable, lots of room, so many options for rigging. Excited for all the use I’m going to get out of it.

I researched kayaks to try to find the most stable one after I had purchased one from Cabela’s and used it once and got rid of it. I actually gave it away. I was hesitant first because I knew of no one that had this type of kayak. I took a chance and I am so glad I did. I can stand up turn around walk around this kayak and I am 230 pounds and it does not tip. I highly recommend this kayak or anyone who wants stability.

Two part review.

Kayak - First of all, I'm quite a plump guy. 5'8" 270lbs. Decided to get into kayak finally and I kinda went all out. Maybe half way. Good use of my bonus I suppose. I wanted a kayak to use it to get some excercise in while out fishing, but I was always worried about weight limit and tipping over. Throughout 2024 I was watching videos and reviews and I ended up with the Unlimited due to its weight limit, stability, and the amount of rail tracks. I wanted something customizable. I bought this last year just a little before the prize increase but I was not able to do anything until today. I live up in Wisconsin so the lakes were frozen or cold. All I can say is with all my gear, my yak attack crate and shortstack 16x16 filled to the max, my pivot drive, my almost empty gear pod, and some misc items, I was able to paddle decent well and pedal well. I was able to stand up too but I don't know about choppy water though. My chair with the nucanoe cushion was very comfortable. The seat does feel too high but I think any lower and my legs my lose circulation. It made paddling a bit odd. Now this is my first kayak and I can't compare but overall I'm satisfied. I will eventually power it but maybe next year. The pivot drive is doable but I think what others have said, there are better pedal drives. I did have to get out twice to take out weeds off my prop. Please improve on this instead of abandon it Nucanoe!!!

ECO Shop - You guys are awesome. Even after months, they were able to fix orders. I had orders from when I bought the Unlimited but have yet to open until recently and they were able to replace them free of charge and I even offer to ship back the wrong item but they told me to just keep it free of charge. I will mostly be getting my stuff from here, even though I'm a few state up North of them.

Kayak has perfect stability for the short big guys. 5’9 375 never thought I would be out there on a kayak 👍🏽 enjoying life 😎

Johnathan was fantastic to deal with and was patient with all my questions. As was the other two people I talked to. Wouldn't buy a kyayk from a different company. Ive had it out a handful of times now and after my big trip to the river I'm pretty impressed with the stability. After I had my 2 kids in the front jumping up and down at the lake I kind of knew, but running trotlines and pounding 10ft bank poles, standing up, drove it home. Between that and fishing brushpiles I ended up with 5 fish the first morning with a total of just under 100lbs and it handled everything I could throw at it easily. Its not fast, but thats not to say I couldn't get where I needed quickly enough not to matter. Glad Johnathan talked me into this particular kyayk. Its a beast. 100 percent satisfied.

Love my Nucanoe Unlimited and if your looking for a place to purchase one I highly recommend Eco Fishing. No issues with kayak at all did forget a few things on my order but they were on it sending what was missed. Great customer service!!!

I love my nucanoe unlimited. Was mad I had to do some repairs straight away in it cause there was small holes in it already but thanks to the life tome warrenty it was free of charge to repair. Love taking it out and it moves across the water easily.

My experience with eco fishing shop was nothing but amazing very fast responses certain hiccups but were fixed immediately and even expedited some things. Over all would absolutely shop with you again EXCEPT for having a kayak shipped to me. The nucanoe unlimited is amazing but the “white glove 99.7 what no damage” service sucked ass. I understand cosmetic damages sure scuffs rubs etc but this isn’t my first kayak and I never put a deep gash in the bottom. I received my nucanoe unlimited and it looked like the kayak had literally been ran into or dropped from 30ft on to its bow nose completely rolling its sharp keel over and leave stress marks. Granted it still works doesn’t take on water (yet) but man 2k dollar kayak with that severe of damage really bothers me. In fact it still irks me. I honestly won’t trust to have a kayak shipped again and it’s not eco fault but these companies are reflecting on you and it’s pretty annoying

This is my third fishing kayak and hands down the best. It is the most customizable and most stable kayak I have ever been in. If someone out there is on the fence between the Nucanoe Unlimited and something else, the unlimited is the way to go…IMO.

I love my new Unlimited kayak. I dont have any real issues. The tarpon drain system is incredible. The amount of area I have to move around and fish and not really ever feel uncomfortable or unstable is amazing. If you can't stand and fish from this kayak then you better just get a bass boat. The 360 swivel seat is awesome. I honestly do not know how I ever fished from anything else. And my other kayaks were a Perception and an Old Town. I have no complaints. The only complaint actually is that it's almost too big and spacious. Riiiight!!!

I bought a Nucanoe from Luke and was so pleased with his expertise and service I returned out of loyalty to Luke to buy an e-propulsion Sprit Plus 1.0
It’s rare these days to receive that level of service. He’s the best. Deserves a bonus check at a minimum.

I chose the Unlimited for the stability, customization and the 360 seat. It is an excellent kayak and is exactly what I was looking for. ECO was extremely helpful and answered all my questions when i picked it up. When I went to register the kayak, the license office wanted additional signed forms I didn't have. When I contacted ECO about the additional paperwork, they called the license office to confirm. They told me that they had never needed the additional paperwork to register a kayak before but if that was what they wanted then they would get it done. They did fill out and send all requested documents to me quickly. I highly recommend ECO Fishing Shop.

I haven't had it in the water yet, but boy it sure looks great and I'm fantasizing about it. Seems I do that more lately. Those bronzies and greenies will be caught soon enough. It's a solidly built boat from all indications, can't wait to put an Xi3 on it. Wish EFS would give a discount on that.(hint, hint, :)) My Unlimited travelled around the midwest and sat for a couple weeks in Indianapolis. I'm only 350 miles from Springdale. That month is understandable with bulk items and I don't view that as anything bad on EFS. Most importantly it arrived packaged very well and in perfect shape. So no complaints. Caleb was very nice purchasing from. Very knowledgeable. They care about to whom and what they sell. Will buy accessories from in the future.

NuCanoe Unlimited Fishing Kayak

Have to say, this thing is good. I've been through a Jonny Bass 100, Old Town Topwater 120 (non pdl) and currently still have an Old Town Big Water 132 pdl. So far I feel that the Unlimited edges them out.
I'll list some cons before moving forward. One negative is not having a sacrificial drag plate at the rear. Have to be a little more careful when dragging it around. The keel is sharp and as such I would worry a little about it's durability if dropped, not a big deal since keel guards are available. The plastic seems to be a bit thinner than the old towns in similar spots...more flex in comparison. Don't take that as flimsy. however.
The pros...
-The stability seems superior to the Top Water 120 I had previously. The secondary stability comes on quick. Thus, you don't get spooked while moving about as the boat shifts from primary to secondary. It's stable and it let's you know. Stand and sit with ease...or paddle while standing if you feel like it. I can't guarantee it but I feel you will fall out way before the boat considers going smooth side up. I weigh about 215, had a buddy hop in that weighs about 165 and it was fine. Although I did not plug the scuppers for this brief test, I certainly would if the outing consisted of 2-up travel.
-The open deck design is great, in short, you can be lazy about organization. If you are keeping it simple when it comes to gear, you can leave your ingenuity packed away in the garage. Just toss it in the boat...there's room without trying.
-The 360 seat, man o man, that damn seat. The hardest part about imagining any other kayak for me is losing that swivel seat. Combined with the boats stability, just anchor/ stake...whatever and fish whatever direction you like. Fishing from the side? Hell, just let a foot dangle off, no worries. That seat is just too damn good. Seems to have room for the bigger folks as well. So much space, so usable, I just don't want anything else. I thought that maybe a downfall would be the seat movement vs paddling but no problem at all.
And now for the paddling, in short, it does better than I thought. Not great but it tracks well enough, just takes a bit to get moving. Hope this helps.

I was happy with Michael Katz and Luke. But I was extremely unsatisfied with your shipping company. It took over a month to get to me once it was shipped. It sat at Perris California location for 2 weeks without anything happening. If it wasn't for luke contacting the supervisor it would probably still be there.

Prompt service and answered my questions about the Unlimited to get it registered in Texas. Getting my accessories from these guys whenever I need something. The shipping company they use was no problem and quicker than expected (nothing to do with Eco but they packed it up nicely).
