Oldtown Sportsman 106 paddle

Looks great spent the winter outfitting it with some custom touches. But I will have to wait another couple weeks for ice out and the the launching ceremony lol.

This is my first Old Town Kayak and I have to say that it lives up to its reputation. Super stable, tracks perfectly. Highly recommend. As for ecofishing, my kayak did originally arrive with the incorrect seat. Ecofishing responded so quickly and resolved the issue within a few days. So, great product, great customer service.

Just received my New Oldtown Sportsman 10.6.It was in great shape.The guys who delivered it where great.They unloaded it for me and put it in the garage for me. Old Town Sportsman 106

Ordered online. Was shipped within a week and received a couple of days later. Wrapped in 2 layers of plastic no problems whatsoever. Used the kayak once on maiden voyage. Roomy and very stable although I wouldn't stand but that's probably just me. Waterproof storage compartment in the bow. Foot rests are adjustable which is nice. Storage area in stern is spacious for my crate. 3 rod holders which are nice and 2 drink holders. The kayak ways 78 lbs which is bulky but maneuverable with just a single person. Can't wait to use it more regularly.

I own three 106 Sportsmans. One is a pedal Drive. 2 Bought and delivered to me protective wrapped from ECO. I love all Three. Great Stability - which was most important to me. I have a camp on a creek letting into Sam Rayburn Lake. I throw on the back of my ATV and cruise about a 1/4 mile and drag into creek - FISH ON!! Light Weight and Durable - PERFECT Fishing Kayak!

1st time out,very windy day

Kayak arrived well packaged and in excellent condition from FragilePak. In regards to FragilePak .communicating with them is next to impossible.I had been emailing them,about every other day, for the 9 days prior to the scheduled delivery date to get my contact number for the delivery team switched to my cell phone number. All I received each time was"because of our high email volume we will respond in 1-3 days" The delivery window was 8am-12pm, at 2pm, I emailed them getting the same response. The delivery came around 6:30 pm.,with no call from the delivery team,on the my cell or original contact number.They actually contacted me by email about a week after the delivery to let me know that my contact number would be changed. Anyway I anxious to get the kayak out on some local water,but my 1st chance was a very windy day{10-15 mph, with gust to 30}.The lake is shallow and narrow,and only had a small chop.Paddling into the wind was no problem,and when you stopped and just sat ,the kayak was really not that wind effected, I think because of the hull design and width.I felt comfortable and safe even in strong gusts.I'm 5'8'' and it;s not difficult to load on my Rav 4. I use the higher seat position and would recommend a long paddle.Mines 250cm. ,and I think i'll be looking for longer.The paddle clip included, is useful,but if you do a lot of sight fishing, I'm also getting 2 Yak Attack roto grip paddle holders for quick access in front of me.The included grip is on the side of the kayak and you get your hands wet using it,not a big deal in the summer,but water temp is in the low 40's now.Overall very happy with this kayak,good handling and you feel very comfortable on the water.Well worth the price!

I don't know what "Review Title" means

The Sportsman 106, with some fine tuning, should work out well for me. It is heavy, the carrying handles are too small for my hands with gloves on. I can modify them. I'd like to see the seat a few inches farther back in the Kayak so that I'm not wasting storage space behind me. Things would be more accessible if they were in front of me. The 230cm paddle recommended for this boat is WAY too short. For a multitude of reasons, I'll be going with a paddle at least 2 feet longer. There is a company in Wisconsin that makes these longer paddles. Next spring I'll experiment with various paddle extensions to determine the exact length of paddle I need, then I'll sink $300 into a longer paddle. The rope that is used to pull a person up out of the seat, for me needs to attached to the front prow of the kayak and be much longer, at least 3 feet. An easy fix for me. And I'm not an NBA basketball player. I'm 5"- 8", 175 pounds, more muscular than average, but otherwise a normal size. The shipper did a nice job in their careful handling of the kayak.

They are great looking kayaks and hope my great grandsons enjoy them. They look to be well worth the money so thank you.

Don't settle for curbside models!

We looked at many Kayaks before purchasing, but we chose Eco fishing shop and Old Town kayaks due to a lead from a friend, and we are certainly glad we did. The quality of these kayaks is superior to what you see at most of the local shops and are made in Old Town, Maine USA which is important to us. Eco Fishing was good to deal with;; told us up front that the wait was long, and sent us updates when they were available. It was worth the wait. We will recommend Eco as well as Old Town to anyone in the market!!

OT 106 Sportsman

Got a couple of these kayaks for a cypress lake my wife and I live on in Florida. I needed non-pedal kayaks that could fit in the back of a truck and didn't weigh too much to carry around. These kayaks are perfect and are a great buy due to price point, build quality, ease of paddling, and most of all the very comfortable seat (mo' better than the seats on more expensive pedal kayaks we'd owned previously but won't mention names). Only downside was that it took several months to receive the yaks......supply chain mess but Eco did a good job with updates. Definitely would buy an Old Town Sportsman again, perfect little paddle yak.

Haven't taken the boat out yet. It did get here in perfect condition, which is what I was most worried about. It took a couple of months to get here but that's just the world we live in now, no fault of the company. I was emailed updates as they came available and when I emailed for the status of my order I did get a call back and the guy was friendly and explained the process/time frame for delivery.

Sportsman 106 paddle version

I ordered a kayak in May and was initially told it would not arrive until September. To my surprise it came roughly 30 days later. I just took it out on a local reservoir in Northeast Ohio and really enjoyed the afternoon on the water. I even caught a few small bluegills. My impression of the Old Town Sportsman 106 paddle kayak is very favorable. It fits in my 6ft pickup bed with the tailgate closed easily. I don’t believe there is any need for a wheeled cart as long as you load your gear separately.This kayak was a smart choice for fishing smaller lakes and reservoirs. It is not fast and does not track as straight as I had hoped, but I believe as my paddle technique improves that will not be a problem. This is my first kayak and after one trip my tracking was improving. Thank you for great service and I recommend you folks to anyone considering a kayak purchase.
