Old Town Sportsman PDL 120 Fishing Kayak

First, Perry with Eco Fishing Shop Team is phenomenal to work with. I had trouble getting my initially ordered kayak and he made things happen for me to get the Old Town Sportsman PDL quickly instead. I like it even better.

The kayak can really move quickly in the water with the pedals and it is everything I was looking for.

My one suggestion is that it is a separate charge for the wrapping of $99 and with no option to remove it. I would think it would be professionally wrapped anyway for what the kayaks cost, so change the price to include the $99 so it does not appear to be an option and it is not optional. The description should say that it is professionally wrapped and doesn't appear like a non-optional uncharge with the $99 already as part of the total cost.

The options for this kayak seem to be limitless and on multiple searches, they are all 5 stars.

Amazing kayak for fishing or whatever tracks true and easy to paddle if need be in shallow water. First time using it felt like I had used it forever.

Purchased an Old Town PDL 120 and it is absolutely beautiful. It’s exactly as the website described. I was hesitant about making this big of a purchase without even seeing the product, but I’m glad I stuck with my gut. Delivery went great and the driver messaged me with updates to ensure I would be home at the time of delivery. Eco Fishing has great customer service I reached out to get an estimated time of delivery for my purchase because it was a Christmas present. And I received an answer in the chat feature on the website within 5 minutes. Highly recommend!

My kayak arrived earlier than expected which was nice. However the little Old Town tackle box with the installation instructions was destroyed. The Kayak itself was in good working order except the rivets which hold the wires to the rudder were poorly installed and partially separated from the kayak. So far this has not caused an issue with functioning of the rudder. I hope this doesn’t cause an issue the future.
The Old Town PDL 120 is everything I expected it to be and more. My plan is to take this kayak on both Lakes and in the Ocean. I’ve only been able to take in on the Ocean so far and have encountered decent size swells and chop in the open water. This kayak has taken the swells, chop and current like a champ and have no worries about fishing on the ocean. Although it not the fastest kayak in the world, I can easily outrun my buddy who has a Hobie Pro Angler. I not a fan of the fin drive of Hobie Kayaks and the Old Town PDL drive is an amazing well engineered piece of equipment. Lastly, I think anyone purchasing an Old Town Kayak should do so from Eco Fishing Shop. You get the best deal with free shipping and no sales tax by doing so.

Ordered the oldtown 120 pdl. It’s a great kayak. You will not be disappointed. Top notch kayak. It was delivered to be wrapped very well with no scratches or defects. Not only is it a great kayak, the service that that eco fishing gave was great. To be honest I was a little worried about ordering such a purchase online but eco fishing made the processes great. Quick the respond and quick to answer any questions I had.

Best kayak purchase I've made. Being a bigger guy it handles all waters from fresh to salt handles with ease and gets me to where I need to be. Eas to mod in all sorts of way. Highly recommend

I've had mine roughly a month but it has been a freshwater dream thus far. However, this is not your boat if you are not physically strong or if you are in shallower freshwater streams. I'm not saying these are bad attributes, but be aware of what you are buying and what purpose you have for this boat because it is certainly not a do-all unit. You want features, you got them with this boat. That said, it is heavy. I certainly reccomend a collapseable kayak cart. Mine fits nicely in the front storage stow.

This boat is a real cadillac. Its fast, smooth, comfortable enough to sit in all day, all infused together with unparalled stability. I almost got the salty model to save a few bucks, but this guy had me the moment i saw a review with the rod holders that lay down inside of the boat. This feature allows me to sneak into some thicker brush and navigate through some concrete bridge tunnels that are in a few of my select fishing spots. The rear cutaway for storage is massive. I fit my tackle box snugly along with a cooler. It is actually a boat i find myself needing to grow into more, as my equipment does not even challenge its capabilities/features. The prop is easy to swap out and cheap to fix on the fly if you do happen break it, i have not but i keep a spare onboard. This boat will turn heads and earn you many compliments from other kayakers. Hope this helps anybody like me who was torn between selecting models, happy Yakkin'

Received my yak in about two week’s time. Love it so far, I had out last week and the wind came up so there was a good chop on the ICW.
It handled it okay until I got next to a sea wall and then the waves were coming at me from two directions which was interesting. It bounced the yak around pretty good. Love being paddle free when fishing, and not dropping an anchor every time I want to check out an area.

I have a pelican catch 130 hd II. I wanted something that also had reverse without taking the pedals out and turning them around. So I bought the Old Town Sportsman 120 PDL. I had it out today for a couple of hours and I loved everything about it. The kayak lives up to all the YouTube videos I watched. Thank you, ECO for having it on sale able to get it a little cheaper. Also, like to thank you for getting to me without a scratch. I would recommend people to buy from you anytime. Thank you Thank you.

Very well built and stable. Plenty of room for storage and accessories. The pdl drive is excellent and sturdy

This boat is extremely stable, the pedals are smooth and not too loud, I was looking for a fishing platform for my local lakes and this kayak fit the bill! A bit pricey, but you get quality. FYI its HEAVY about 100lbs so be sure to have a slick loading/unloading system flushed out first.

Don't know what to say but this is a dope ass boat.

Really easy and simple to use! It gets me to the best spots that regular boats can’t get to. First time out, I caught 3 flounder within an hour. Great piece of equipment that I will use for many years.

Just got the kayak 2 , haven’t take. It out yet, waiting till spring.

My first one was damaged by shipping, but Eco Fishing Customer Service was super quick to resolve the issue. They had the old one pick up in a few days and then had the new one shipped out in about a week and a half. They were super easy to deal with. Great job Eco Fishing!

Super stable and plenty of space. On the heavier side. Typically, pedals at 3.5-4.2 mph. Great kayak.

If you’ve never fished from one and are debating taking the dive do it!!!! It’s worth every penny super stable and relatively quick for its size!

The kayak is great. Eco Fishing is horrible. Nothing like being told you be giving it 24-hour notice before delivery and then it's showing up unannounced I had a schedule. Not to mention the additional charge for protective wrapping does absolutely nothing. I own over half a dozen kayaks and this was my worst shopping experience ever. Absolutely do not shop with Eco unless you want to be plastic welding a brand new rig that will be showing up unannounced.
