If you choose to replace a kayak with minor cosmetic damage instead, then you will be charged a 20% restocking fee.

2024 Vanhunks Zambezi 10ft Kayak

DURABLE, AGILILE AND COMFORTABLE.

Like its bigger brother, the Zambezi 10ft kayak, designed to be perfect for both the fisherman and reactional paddler, at 10ft in length, it's incredibly agile, quick, and packs a punch taking on both flat water and open seas with ease.

Manufactured from very tough single rotomolded 5mm Polyethylene, the Zambezi is more than ready to take on nature's elements. The Zambezi is fitted with a rudder system that can be operated by either the foot pedal system or the handheld control positioned on the side. Under the seat, you will find an access hatch that is easily removable by undoing the four stainless steel screws to maintain the handheld steering mechanism.

At the stern of the Zambezi, there is a large tank well for storing gear, and this has a cross-braced bungee cord to ensure that your equipment stays safely in place. There is an additional toolbox in front of the raised aluminum seating that can mount your fish finder and easily store your battery pack in the hatch. A scupper port with a 4mm protective cover at the exit point underneath the kayak protects your transducer when mounted on the brass inserts. Once the transducer is mounted, you can run a short line up to the toolbox above, and this will keep the deck neat and free of long cables allowing you more space to fish and paddle.

Should you wish to free up your hands while paddling, there is the option to remove the toolbox and replace it with a Fin or Prop drive. With the Fin or Prop drive installed, your hands can get busy casting out a lure or simply snapping a great picture on your phone or camera. At the bow of the Zambezi, there is an additional hatch that is perfect for stowing your anchor or safety equipment. This hatch has cross-braced bungee reinforcement to secure and safeguard your equipment.

If fishing is your game, the Zambezi will be perfect with its four integrated sloping rod holders. There are two mounted behind the aluminum seating, and these are angled perfectly for trolling lures behind you as you paddle. In addition, there are two additional integrated rod holders in front of the seat that is great for changing lures, adding bait, or simply placing rods with lines down for bottom fishing.

Throughout the deck, there are ten scupper plug points, and these assist with the drainage of any excess water that may try to accumulate from rain or sea spray. Pull out the plugs, and the water will drain, allowing you to have a dry working area. Mounted in front of the seating on both sides of the kayak are accessory rails. These are great for mounting extra rod holders or additional navigational equipment.

On the Zambezi, there are carry handles that assist with the loading and moving of the kayak. In addition, there is a carry handle on either side of the kayak, helping the paddler with entry and exit and controlling the kayak when launching. On the bow and stern of the Zambezi, there are additional carry handles, and these are perfect for loading and unloading the kayak.

Definitely a Winner!

I purchased this at full price and without any incentives.

What brought me to Vanhunks and this model was Stability, Weight, Cargo Capacity, Convertibility (paddle, peddle or fin drive and or jetdrive/trolling motor) and finally overall price.

In this case the VanHunks Zambezi 10' comes with all the bungees, the seat, toolbox, 4 recessed fishing rod holders and covers, 4 accessory rails, paddle keepers, paddle and all the scupper plugs as well as the rudder and foot/hand controls and an additional Adjustable rail mounted Rod holder.

Customer service along with speaking to someone about questions I had with the Brand was the very first pleasurable experience I had prior to my purchase.

1. Even prior to purchasing my Kayak I felt as if each customer is a priority. When I called, (Vanhunks), for the first time my call went to voice mail stating something to the effect of, being sorry and might be busy with a customer, so I hung up and figured I would try again later. No big deal but not a great start. To my surprise within 3 minutes I received a call back, From Tyrone Cochrane asking how he could help me and apologizing for not being able to answer my call. Wow off to a great start! I have spoken to him a few times since and is always prompt and pleasant with all Q's that you may have. Very helpful A+

2. I Purchased from Ecofishingshop.com because they use affirm 0% financing and shipping was only $75 with a zero damage guarantee). Thought the Shipping was going to be a huge regret because the time line looked like it was going to take up to a month. Note: If you are ordering a VanHunks Kayak do it on a Wednesday or early Thursday because the transportation Co. picks up on Fridays. Yak shipped 7/29 and remarkably I received it 14 days later. Not to bad from Arkansas to N.E. Pa.! Arrived with only a minor bend in the adjustable seat rail, and spoke to Luke, Super cool guy. He was so sorry for the issue and was sincerely apologetic and stated they would do whatever necessary to resolve any and all concerns I have. Remarkably a few min later I received a call back from Luke and he stated that a new rail would be in my hands in a couple days, and it was. It was such a great experience I called Luke back a few days later with some questions about the Vanhunks Fin Drive. He was very informative and so helpful I immediately ordered it.

Vanhunks Kayak and Fin Drive…
Weight is 61.5 lbs much lighter than many other sit on yaks. I’m 47yrs old 6’4” and 250lbs and I can lift it over my head and load on roof without assistance. Also I find that the yak still sits pretty high in the water with great stability. The very first time I attempted to stand in it I was successful. Definitely able to stand and fish in this model. Might be a little more wobbly than a much wider heavier yak but I definitely will get way better with practice. After 6-7 stands I have only fallen off once and that was me trying to see how far I could push it and I lost my balance, yak never rolled.

Easy and efficient to paddle. My wife and son have raced me a few times and even without racing we are stroke for stroke. (Theirs are 10’ sit in 36 lb kayaks from another mfg). The Zambezi cuts with ease through the water and rides swells & wakes with a stable confidence. Jet skis & boats though I was crazy playing in the wake’s on Labor Day in the middle of a pretty big lake near my home. So much so that a few stopped & asked Q’s about it, lol.

This thing has all you could ever need all in 1 package. Pretty Light, super stable, everything is included & wont break the bank.

There are only 3 things I had MINOR issues with, & solutions …

1. You can turn on a dime with the rudder. (Had to tighten the rudder lines after a couple trips after the lines stretch a little, to be expected).

2. Seat was super comfortable all day. (Recommend riveting straps or using aluminum 1/8” Chicago Binding Screws to keep the lower straps tight as they loosened 2 or 3 through a 5hr trip)

3. Front bungee straps over the bow storage kept sliding over the screw mounts and can be a pain to put back on. (I took small zip tie and wrapped them around each bungee at the mount locations so that the bungee was making a tight loop around each screw mount. Impossible for them to just pop off now and keeps the lid on tight. Don’t have to worry about loosing either during transportation anymore, almost did once).

In closing, I really don't have any negatives with this unit. I’m extremely happy with my purchase & it exceeded my expectations. Damn, Now my son wants one!

I can confidently recommend a Vanhunks kayak to anyone looking for a Great Yak that checks all the same boxes I was looking for. Quality, Customer Service & Product Inclusions far exceed the price point.
