We have secured a new partnership with a white glove delivery service that will ensure ZERO Damaged Kayaks. You will no longer be required to sign and inspect your kayak. But do not worry, this carrier has a 99.97% damage-free rate and they have assured us of this. In the rare occasion damage has been detected, Eco Fishing Shop will take care of the replacement as long as the damage is reported within 2 hours of delivery and pictures of the damage are submitted via email. If the damage is cosmetic and/or able to be repaired, such as dents or scratches, EFS will provide a repair kit. If you choose to replace a kayak with minor cosmetic damage instead, then you will be charged a 20% restocking fee.  

The Eco Fishing Shop definition of damage is when the kayak is delivered in a condition that compromises the hull and is confirmed with the vendor that would void the warranty.

Who is the Big Rig FD designed for?

Anglers who want maximum stability and load-carrying ability. The Big Rig FD is designed for lakes, lazy rivers and inshore saltwater. Its 40" beam and 550 lb capacity prioritize stability and the ability to carry a heavy, well-equipped build.

It is not intended for fast or highly technical current. When moving-water performance is the main priority, the Coosa X is the better choice.

How much weight can it carry?

Maximum capacity is 550 lbs. When planning your load, account for the paddler or paddlers, seat, pedal drive where applicable, motors, batteries, electronics and fishing gear. Leave an appropriate safety margin rather than planning to operate at the published maximum. Eco Fishing Shop can help review a heavily equipped build.

This is the highest solo capacity in the current Jackson fishing range, which is what makes the Big Rig FD a natural starting point for larger anglers and for heavy electronics builds.

How much does it weigh once it is rigged?

130 lbs bare, 136 lbs with the seat, and 149 lbs with the seat and drive fitted.

At 149 lbs rigged this is a two-person lift or a cart job, and beyond practical rooftop transport for most people. A trailer is the realistic answer and is worth budgeting for alongside the kayak. At 13'3" you will want around 13.5 ft of clear storage space.

What drive does it use, and is it included?

The Flex Drive Mark IV pedal system is included, as is the Comfort Seat 5.0 on 2026 models.

Is it stable enough to stand and fish all day?

That is the design brief. The 40" beam is the widest in the current Jackson fishing-kayak range and prioritizes standing stability.

That width trades some speed and maneuverability for stability, which makes the Big Rig FD especially well suited to lakes, flats and lazy rivers. Our fishing kayak hull guide explains how hull shape drives stability.

How should I clean, store and maintain it?

Rinse the kayak with fresh water after saltwater use, store it out of prolonged direct sunlight and support the hull evenly during storage.

The warranty excludes ordinary wear such as abrasion, chipping and color fading, along with damage resulting from improper care and damage to the tracks or hull caused by aftermarket outrigger or wheel systems. Caring for the kayak properly is what keeps it inside coverage.

What does the warranty cover?

For new kayaks purchased from an authorized dealer, the limited warranty covers substantial defects in materials and workmanship for the original purchaser. Coverage is non-transferable, and proof of purchase is required.

During year one, the kayak is repaired or replaced at no charge with free shipping. During year two, a replacement full build is available at 70% off retail plus shipping. During year three, it is available at 50% of MSRP plus shipping. On fishing and exploration models, seats and drives are excluded from replacement coverage in all three years. Coverage ends after year three.

Outfitting components follow separate terms: free replacement plus shipping in year one, 70% off plus shipping in year two, and 40% off plus shipping in year three.

The Flex Drive Mark IV carries its own two-year manufacturer warranty against defects in workmanship and materials, separate from the hull. Register the kayak and drive as soon as it arrives and keep your proof of purchase. Flex Drive claims begin with the selling dealer, so contact Eco Fishing Shop and we will raise it for you.

Ordinary wear, improper accessory installation, and track or hull damage caused by aftermarket outrigger or wheel systems are excluded. Eco Fishing Shop can help determine the correct claim process.
