2026 Jackson Bite Angler

With the trend in price point fishing kayaks tending towards compromise in hull quality, performance, gear management, and comfort, Jackson Kayak’s Bite Angler doesn’t cut corners.

The Bite performs to the high bar of paddling and stand-to-fish standards associated with the Jackson Kayak name. The Bite Angler has been upgraded to the Comfort Seat, which is the perfect combination of breathability, drainage, and comfort in a framed seat not traditionally found on price point kayaks.

The open-concept deck gives the angler one of our roomiest platforms to stand and fish. Ample storage fore and aft, paired with our updated bungee attachment system which prevents water from seeping into the hull, means there is plenty of storage space.

Four recessed areas on either side of the Bite Angler make quick, easy, and secure storage for tackle boxes. Also included are flush mount rod holders and cup holders on both sides of the Comfort Seat.

Four molded-in inserts on the stern of the kayak will accept our newly developed Accessory Mounting Bracket, designed to accommodate accessories with the four bolt mounting pattern such as a PowerPole or Torqeedo trolling motor.

Every model in our 2026 fishing lineup now comes equipped with the Jackson Kayak Comfort Seat 5.0. Designed with a deeper ergonomic base for better posture and lower center of gravity, the 5.0 delivers improved support, increased comfort, and a more connected feel on the water. It’s the most advanced version of our iconic seat system, now standard across the board.

  • Two flush-mounted rod holders behind the seat for easy access. Great for trolling for big fish!
  • Bow and stern handles are molded in for comfort and ease of transport. These handles also serve as a great way to lock down your kayak in your car, truck, or trailer to prevent theft.
  • The open stern storage area offers ample room for crates, bait tanks, and expedition gear within reach of the paddler.
  • Our replaceable skid plate protects your hull from seasons of dragging at launch.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Jackson Bite Angler

Who is the Bite Angler designed for?

Anglers who want a genuinely roomy, stand-and-fish deck without paying pedal-drive money. Jackson describes it as a budget-friendly fishing platform and one of the roomiest boats in its range to stand and fish from.

Jackson lists it working across small lakes and rivers, ponds, streams and inshore saltwater — a broad brief for the price. If you specifically want a moving-water boat, the Coosa X is the purpose-built option; the Bite is the value all-rounder.

What are its dimensions and weight?

Length 11'6", width 35", weight 72 lbs bare or 78 lbs with the seat.

At 72 lbs it is the lightest fishing hull Jackson currently lists, which makes it the easiest of the range to car-top and to handle alone. Our car-topping guide covers the gear that makes it straightforward.

How much weight can it carry?

Maximum capacity is 400 lbs. That covers everything aboard — you, the seat, tackle, electronics, a battery if you fit one, and anything you catch. It is not an allowance on top of your own body weight.

Our guide to choosing a fishing kayak for bigger anglers explains how to work out realistic usable capacity once a day’s gear is aboard.

Can I add a motor?

Yes. There are four moulded-in stern inserts that take an Accessory Mounting Bracket, which in turn accepts four-bolt-pattern accessories such as a PowerPole or a Torqeedo trolling motor.

Tell us the motor you are considering and we will confirm the bracket you need. Our guide to kayak fishing motors covers the categories.

Is a seat included?

Yes — the Comfort Seat 5.0 is included, and it is the difference between the 72 lb bare figure and the 78 lb with-seat figure.

How should I clean, store and maintain it?

Rinse it with fresh water after every saltwater trip, store it out of prolonged direct sunlight, and support the hull evenly rather than resting it on a hard point for months.

This matters for cover as well as longevity: the warranty excludes ordinary wear including abrasion, chipping and colour fading, and it excludes failure to care for the boat in line with the instructions. A hull left uncovered in full sun through a season is the most common way owners fall outside coverage.

What does the Jackson warranty actually cover?

It is worth understanding properly, because it is not a flat three-year replacement warranty — it is one free year followed by two years of discounted replacement.

For kayaks bought new: in year one Jackson will repair or replace the kayak free, with free shipping. In year two you can get a full build at 70% off retail, plus shipping. In year three it is a full build at 50% of MSRP, plus shipping. Cover ends after year three. Parts and outfitting run on the same shape — free in year one, 70% off in year two, 40% off in year three.

It covers substantial defects in materials and workmanship, for the original owner only, and it is non-transferable. Proof of purchase is required. Claims go to Jackson directly rather than through us, but start with our team and we will help you raise it. You will need your hull serial number — our guide to finding the serial number on a kayak shows where to look.

Two exclusions worth knowing before you rig: ordinary wear such as abrasion, chipping and colour fading is not covered, and neither is damage to the tracks or hull caused by aftermarket outrigger or wheel systems. If you are planning either, talk to us first.
