But do not worry, this carrier has a 99.97% damage-free rate and they have assured us of this. In the rare occasion damage has been detected, Eco Fishing Shop will take care of the replacement as long as the damage is reported within 2 hours of delivery and pictures of the damage are submitted via email. If the damage is cosmetic and/or able to be repaired, such as dents or scratches, EFS will provide a repair kit. The Eco Fishing Shop definition of damage is when the kayak is delivered in a condition that compromises the hull and is confirmed with the vendor that would void the warranty.

2026 Old Town Sportsman 120 PRO

For the angler who aspires to fish with no limits, the all-new Old Town Sportsman 120 PRO is a compact fishing kayak built to deliver serious capability in a right-sized platform. The newest model in the Sportsman Pro series, the 120 PRO packs a wide, open cockpit, exceptional stability, and a generous 540 lb total weight capacity into a maneuverable 12-foot hull — giving serious anglers room to rig the boat their way without hauling a barge to the launch.

Power-ready by design, the Sportsman 120 PRO features a universal bow mount with a four-hole insert pattern for easy motor installation, a stern mount ready for transom-mount trolling motors or shallow water anchors, and built-in steering-ready cable routing. Thru-hull wiring ports and 140 inches of usable aluminum accessory track make it simple to add motors, fish finders, and accessories over time, while the universal transducer mount fits Humminbird and other popular electronics right out of the box.

Storage won't be an issue on the 120 PRO. A large bow hatch, oversized stern tankwell, and wider cockpit deliver premium gear management for everything a tournament day demands. Whether you're building out a fully powered fishing machine or starting with a paddle-first setup you can upgrade later, the Old Town Sportsman 120 PRO is a feature-rich platform built for confident fishing.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Old Town Sportsman 120 PRO

Who is the Old Town Sportsman 120 PRO best suited to?

The Old Town Sportsman 120 PRO suits anglers who want a paddle hull they can rig heavily and later power, rather than a stripped recreational fishing boat.

It is 12 ft long, 36 in wide and 102 lb assembled, carrying 438 lb, with aluminum accessory tracks, a bow hatch, an oversized stern tankwell and thru-hull wiring ports.

The extra 2.5 in of beam over the standard Sportsman 120 is what pays for the rigging space.

How much weight can the Old Town Sportsman 120 PRO carry?

The Old Town Sportsman 120 PRO is rated at 540 lb total and 438 lb usable.

Usable capacity is the total minus the 102 lb assembled boat, and it is the figure to plan an angler, a battery, sonar and a full crate against.

At 438 lb usable it carries 23 lb more than the 12 ft Sportsman 120 and 99 lb more than the 13 ft 2 in BigWater 132.

What seat comes with the Old Town Sportsman 120 PRO?

The Old Town Sportsman 120 PRO comes with the Element Seating System, a framed 6 lb seat that adjusts fore and aft and lifts out for transport.

The wider 36 in cockpit gives the seat more room to move than the standard Sportsman 120 allows.

Removing it before loading drops the boat to a 96 lb hull, which matters on a model this size.

How stable is the Old Town Sportsman 120 PRO for standing and fishing?

The Old Town Sportsman 120 PRO is 36 in wide with a flat standing platform.

Width helps, but no kayak stands up for you. Your balance, load, wind, current, chop, water temperature and experience all decide it.

Build up from shallow, calm water rather than testing it where a swim would be a problem.

Can a pedal drive or a motor be added to the Old Town Sportsman 120 PRO later?

Yes for a trolling motor and no for a pedal drive, because the Old Town Sportsman 120 PRO carries factory motor mounts but no pedal-drive well.

The hull has a universal four-hole bow-mount insert pattern, a stern mount that accepts transom motors or a shallow water anchor, and cable routing for steering accessories.

No PDL retrofit is made for paddle hulls, and the ePDL+ RetroFit fits only PDL-equipped kayaks. For pedal power from new, see our pedal-drive comparison guide.

How is the Old Town Sportsman 120 PRO transported and stored?

The Old Town Sportsman 120 PRO weighs 102 lb assembled and 96 lb once the seat is out, at 12 ft long.

Roof loading is limited by the lowest of your vehicle roof rating, crossbar rating and rack rating, and by what you can lift. Our car-topping guide covers bars, straps and loading aids.

A cart or trailer is worth considering at this weight.

What warranty applies to the Old Town Sportsman 120 PRO?

The hull and deck of the Old Town Sportsman 120 PRO carry limited lifetime coverage for the original retail purchaser.

Accessories such as paddles and life jackets are covered for one year. A trolling motor, sonar unit or shallow water anchor you add to the PRO deck is covered by whoever made it, not by Old Town.

No factory drive or motor is fitted, so the five-year and two-year terms do not apply. Coverage is not transferable.

Warranty claims begin with Old Town. Eco Fishing Shop can help identify the correct support path, but coverage decisions are made under the Old Town warranty terms.

Can the Old Town Sportsman 120 PRO be used in saltwater, and how should it be looked after?

Yes, the Old Town Sportsman 120 PRO can be fished in saltwater, and rinsing it with fresh water afterward is what keeps the rigging usable.

Aluminum tracks, thru-hull wiring ports, the transducer mount and any motor bracket are what salt attacks first, so rinse and dry those deliberately.

Store the hull shaded and evenly supported to keep it out of direct sun.
