We have secured a new partnership with a white glove delivery service that will ensure ZERO Damaged Kayaks. You will no longer be required to sign and inspect your kayak. But do not worry, this carrier has a 99.97% damage-free rate and they have assured us of this. In the rare occasion damage has been detected, Eco Fishing Shop will take care of the replacement as long as the damage is reported within 2 hours of delivery and pictures of the damage are submitted via email. If the damage is cosmetic and/or able to be repaired, such as dents or scratches, EFS will provide a repair kit. If you choose to replace a kayak with minor cosmetic damage instead, then you will be charged a 20% restocking fee.  

The Eco Fishing Shop definition of damage is when the kayak is delivered in a condition that compromises the hull and is confirmed with the vendor that would void the warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Jackson Knarr FD

What water is the Knarr FD built for?

The Knarr FD is designed for oceans, large lakes and long-distance, big-water fishing. Its hull is built around surf, wind, waves and current, and was hand-shaped by designer Tony Lee for speed, stability, surf handling and tracking.

For fishing rivers and creeks where close-quarters maneuverability is the priority, consider the Coosa X instead. As always, choose conditions appropriate to your experience, the weather and the water you are on — big water asks more of the paddler as well as the boat.

How much does it weigh once it is rigged?

The three relevant weights are 138 lbs bare, 145 lbs with the seat, and 158 lbs with the seat and drive fitted.

At 158 lbs rigged this is one of the heaviest kayaks in the current Jackson fishing range and firmly a trailer proposition rather than something to lift onto a roof. At 13'9" you will want around 14 ft of clear storage space, and a cart for the ramp.

How much weight can it carry?

Maximum capacity is 425 lbs. When planning your load, account for the paddler or paddlers, seat, pedal drive where applicable, motors, batteries, electronics and fishing gear. Leave an appropriate safety margin rather than planning to operate at the published maximum. Eco Fishing Shop can help review a heavily equipped build.

Worth noting that the Knarr is the longest kayak in the range but not the highest capacity — the wider Big Rig FD carries more at 550 lbs.

What drive does it use, and is it included?

The patented Flex Drive Mark IV is included, with a single-handed steering system updated for 2025, and the Comfort Seat 5.0 comes standard on 2026 models.

How should I clean, store and maintain it?

Rinse the kayak with fresh water after saltwater use, store it out of prolonged direct sunlight and support the hull evenly during storage.

The warranty excludes ordinary wear such as abrasion, chipping and color fading, along with damage resulting from improper care and damage to the tracks or hull caused by aftermarket outrigger or wheel systems. Caring for the kayak properly is what keeps it inside coverage.

What does the warranty cover?

For new kayaks purchased from an authorized dealer, the limited warranty covers substantial defects in materials and workmanship for the original purchaser. Coverage is non-transferable, and proof of purchase is required.

During year one, the kayak is repaired or replaced at no charge with free shipping. During year two, a replacement full build is available at 70% off retail plus shipping. During year three, it is available at 50% of MSRP plus shipping. On fishing and exploration models, seats and drives are excluded from replacement coverage in all three years. Coverage ends after year three.

Outfitting components follow separate terms: free replacement plus shipping in year one, 70% off plus shipping in year two, and 40% off plus shipping in year three.

The Flex Drive Mark IV carries its own two-year manufacturer warranty against defects in workmanship and materials, separate from the hull. Register the kayak and drive as soon as it arrives and keep your proof of purchase. Flex Drive claims begin with the selling dealer, so contact Eco Fishing Shop and we will raise it for you.

Ordinary wear, improper accessory installation, and track or hull damage caused by aftermarket outrigger or wheel systems are excluded. Eco Fishing Shop can help determine the correct claim process.
